Is there a place to post deals on Black Friday deals WITHOUT having it posted in the "Hot Deals" forum? Right now, there is a place for Black Friday deals, but if I post something there, it still goes to the HD forum.
There should be a forum devoted specifically for that reason. It makes sense if you think about it...

There was one last year.. I think they make it when it gets closer to BF.. like around mid-late October IIRC.

black friday deals should stay in Hot Deals. While Black Friday discussions will go in deal discussion.
There is a Black Friday category in both of those forums, the moderator will do the categorization 
We'll also have a black friday page very soon, which will have some cool features and display relevant black friday deals and ads and discussions.
Well, I don't see why Black Friday deals should go in the "Hot Deals" forum. Since they're only available on Black Friday, those who are viewing it before then won't be able to do anything. Instead, we want to see current deals when we go to the forum. If we want to know what deals are on Black Friday, we would go to the special Black Friday forum. Otherwise, we don't want Black Friday deals to clutter the "Hot Deals" forum. That's my 2 cents.

We did that last year, but this year we are going to leave them in HD. When people come to FW looking for Black Friday Ads, they look in hot deals. This will be the only exception. If you don't want to see them, you can ignore the thread. Posts like "what did you do last black friday" will still be in DD. If you all have suggestions on doing it different, please let us know!

Sooo... Mars, mud, jely and I were thinking of a categorized (like Hot Deals) Black Friday forum. How's that sound? Questions? Suggestions?
I like the idea of keeping them all in HD. Maybe you could create a tag in the template with a Black Friday label?

I for 1 would love a .U]separate"Black Friday" forum. While Black Friday deals are indeed "Hot Deals," I'd like to know which are which. Why? Because I'd would then choose to look more closely at those Black Friday deals as they have a shorter window of availability (there will be a few 1-day Hot Deal exceptions I'm sure). Since we can't sort deals by their exp dates right now, keeping Black Friday Deals in their own Tab will make it easier to isolate them. *4 years ago I bought a home computer for everyone to use via Black Friday. I have to replace it now & cannot miss out on the incredible deals that prevail on that night. Thanks for the additional consideration

For example, if it's a few days before Black Friday, I don't want to see what deals are going to be on Black Friday when browsing through the Hot Deals! It gets annoying to click "ignore", and there might be a good deal too.

Has WalMart pre-emptively threatened you over Black Friday postings like they've done to at least one other site?

anything that will prevent more sticky threads is good- look at the mess over in free stuff. /@@
