I found that when I use Modern view, when I view a thread from browsers on OS X, both thread content background and font are black color. So without highlight content, I cannot see anything exception quoted text. I tried both Safari and Firefox on OS X 10.5.6. Classic view works fine. Anybody got same issue?
Well that's...odd. I say this because almost everyone here at the office is on OSX 10.5.6. We'd definitely have noticed if there was a common problem in Safari or Firefox on Mac. Hmm...

I'm on OS X 10.5.6 and I'm having the same issue. Classic View works fine for me, too.
I haven't updated my system after installing the 10.5.6 update. My OS install is brand new. Firefox was just downloaded yesterday and it's completely up to date. I haven't noticed anything similar on any other website.
I'm attaching a screenshot of this thread. I've highlighted the text in one of the posts so that you can see that the text is actually there.
Another question I have is, what color depth are you using for the display on the system with this issue?

Yes, it's on a non-apple machine (a netbook which I installed OS X on with my retail disc). I don't have any problems with viewing the forum on my 17" macbook.

The issue is related to the color depth. Firefox has a few issues and the best fix is moving to "Millions of colors" for the graphics settings. As it's not an Apple machine, just curious what graphics card is in there?
Try changing your display settings, checking whatever the options are for color depth.
Few updates: 1. yes, this is OSX running on no-apple hardware. 2. I tried it with Safari 3 and 4 (beta), as well as Firefox 3.0.8 and 3.0.9. They all have same issue.
I took two screenshots, one with latest Firefox 3.0.9, and another one with Safari 4 beta.
BTW, This happened on both my laptop and desktop with OSX installed. Both using Millions colors in display. Check my third screenshot. laptop using Intel GMA 950 video card, desktop using ATI HD 2600 XT video card.
Has anyone seen this issue on a retail Apple system? If you are set to millions of colors, can you try switching to thousands to see if that helps clear up the background color?
Well… yes. Even with your help and duplicating your settings, we haven’t been able to reproduce this on our hardware. So we’re at a bit of a roadblock. We’re left hoping you’re able to work it out with your set-up.
