So I'm not a big fan of guns and ammo, but they're always being posted. I don't really want to be reminded with how cheap and accessible firearms are. I find it all disturbing...but don't worry...I know that I'm the crazy one.
I don't want to ban them from the site (like craigslist does), I would be perfectly happy if I was just able to block the categories of posts and not see them.
Here's an example here's a post from today:
Title: Fiocchi 357 Magnum 142 Grain FMJ box of 50 for $18.49+shipping Category: Sports & Outdoors › Outdoors › Hunting & Fishing › Hunting › Firearms & Ammunition
Now that we have categorization (good job btw), this should be doable...Somewhere in My Account, have a block list...

This is being discussed in the FW suggestions thread.
Having the ability to automatically hide certain categories of topics would be quite useful in the HD forum...for example, if you don't own a pet, you could auto-hide all pet supply deals, resulting in a cleaner forum that contains only stuff you're interested in.
This could be implemented with a "not interested" symbol next to each category that would hide that category from view.

We love this idea. It was actually part of the vision for 'views' to begin with, and we'll get back on it once the dust settles on new design, holiday pages, search... jayK, that's a good interface suggestion; appreciate it

You're not crazy, or at least there is two of us I guess. I'm not sure which one is more disturbing, the love affair of (certain parts) of America with guns or the fact that the gun toting gun loving NRA exerts so much political influence!
