This should be a quick fix. On most pages, it isn't even a problem as they fit the screen.
On some pages, such as the homepage, the content area is a fixed width. The outside gradients are much more visible and have a banding effect. The banding looks rather bad. I recommend remaking those background gradients with better quality images.
I added my comment in the other thread too but I am using the color code FEFEFE for background using Stylish plugin for Firefox and it looks way better than any of the default options provided by FW. Here's the screenshot again.
