Maybe it is just me, but when I use the code tags [.c] [./c], without the periods, of course, I cannot insert extra lines.
For example:
This is
an
example
comes out as ...
This is
an
example.
Sometimes I can "force" the extra line breaks if I copy and paste the text from another document. But, this is not even consistent.
Maybe it is supposed to work this way ... just checking.
Also, notice the great amount of space that appears after the closing [./c] tag.

Two returns.
Three returns.
Four.

It's working ok for me although apparently it likes to insert indentation for me on its own.
What browser are you using?

Internet Explorer 8.
And, your thread came out all as one line after the other (no spaces between the lines) in my browser ...

Here is what I am seeing ... when I quote your post, here is what shows up in the message box (fwctags02.jpg).
Here is what I see in the thread itself (fwctags.jpg).
The extra spaces are there in the editor, but not when it actually posts.
Hope that helps clarify ....

Thanks for the screenshots! I'll send this along. Looks fine in FF, but can't test IE8 here. :/

Thanks for your patience on this. I talked with someone today about this. He is aware of the issue and intends to fix it. The timeframe for the fix is uncertain. Hopefully, it will be some time next week.

Testing to see ...
if it actually works ...
or if FW is pulling my leg! ;-)
Edited to Add: Still broken.
Edited Again to Add: And look at all the empty space after the closing code tag.
