I normally have my threads per page set to 20. But then when I click on Hot Deals, I get 40 per page. I double-checked my preferences and they are indeed set to 20.
What a pain in the keester.

I just tried to replicate the issue and was unable to. When I set it to 20 topics it gave me 20 topics...

What browser etc are you using?

We are doing some testing to see the impact of setting the minimum number of topics shown at a higher number. Looks like you landed in the test group.

I'm sorry about the confusion it caused, I understand it would be frustrating to have a preference set that doesn't match what happens.

I'm curious, are you able to state why 20 is better than any other number for you? Hoping to have a better understanding.

I'm noticing this too when I'm not signed in. I prefer 20 to 40 because 20 lets me scan a page without having to scroll.

Same here. I can scan the list of topics faster with my eyes, when they are all on one page, and I have my mouse positioned over the "Next" button.

What hard/software are you using that you can see 20 lines at a time? Firefox takes up the first 1-1/2 inches of my screen, Fatwallet takes up the next 2-1/2 inches (both classic and modern) and I can only see about 11 items without scrolling.

I just checked my firefox window and it is about 1100x1100, or about half a 1920x1200 widescreen monitor.

Edit to add: Mine does show 20 topics at a time.

I'm guessing your feedback is that you'd rather have 10 topics per page? If so, currently you can set that in your account preferences.

I think his feedback is that most people can't reasonably see twenty items per page, so there's really no disadvantage to 40.

Obviously, if people set 20 they should see 20, but I'm all for a much larger default.

If you meant me, no, I'd rather scroll than keep clicking next next next, so I'm set to 50 items.

I also have this problem. I have the threads per page set to 20, but I am getting 40 threads per page. I have a 28 inch 1900x1200 monitor.

Should be back to 20 now. Apologies for the distress we caused.
