Hi, I've been around for a while, so I think I know most of the features in the FW forums.
There is a member that posts nothing but self serving content. I've tried to set up my settings to ignore the user's topics and messages, but they still show up. This is annoying, because this user creates a large portion of the topics in the grocery form. I know i'm typing the name correctly, because it's copied and pasted from under his avatar. What am i doing wrong?
Something you can check. The easy way to ignore a user is to click on their avatar or name. This should bring up a smaller window that shows details about the user. There is a drop-down in that box to ignore the users' topics, messages, or both.
Once you select the option you want from that drop-down box, that user should be on our ignore list. If you go under "My Account", then "Forum Settings, then "Ignore Users", you will see the text box where you were probably copying/pasting the name. Under the submit button, there should now be a list with the user you just ignored.
As PML indicated, that functionality doesn't work in Classic. Apologies for the confusion by still showing the ignore options; will get that corrected. In the meantime, give Modern a try for your ignoring needs. Also, I trust our mod team is following up with you to address self-serving members.

what corrected? removing it's mention from classic or FINALLY adding it since there ARE some NOT switching to modern? This has been mentioned 1001 times but you all still act like action will be investigated.

Still showing the option to ignore users in classic mode is what footn was referring to. That has been removed as an option from classic. Nope, not being investigated any further, and our apologies once again for the confusing messaging.
My ignore feature isn't working either. I click the avatar, select any option for "Ignore User's:", and then get an IE error (below). Doesn't work in Chrome, IE6, or IE8. Pretty annoying. I had to add the user going through My Account instead.
