* 0% APR for 12 billing cycles on purchases and balance transfers * $75 Balance Transfer fee (first 1 month) * $0 Annual Fee (Affinity card w/LinuxFund.org, others work too)
On that page you will have a choice of five programs: * Signature (1st program offered) for top credit scores. Think American Express . Includes rewards. * Select Rewards and Cash Rewards (2nd and 3rd offer) are just that. You get rewards from your purchases - miles or points or 1% cash. * Platinum (4th choice) probably easiest qualifying. That's counter-intuitive to me, but so it goes. No rewards. * College (5th choice) full time students only. Read the terms carefully. Signature and Rewards cards cost the bank a bit more, so I suspect the qualifying scores will be higher and initial credit lines lower, but that's a guess.
"Platinum," recommend. Signature hides CL
Don't apply if you just applied. Apply call in for CLI, then BT. Good luck, please post results.

What is the difference among these cards...is there any one that would be better than the others to apply for? It appears that the Visa Signature and Visa Platinum cards have lower APRs than the others; are they more selective for those cards? Some of them have a point-based rewards program and others have a cash-based rewards program, and the CL on the student card is only available up to $1000 (as opposed to $25K for the others)...so avoid the student CC even if you are a student since it's practically worthless for BTs. Any other differences that I am not noticing?

How is US bank on initial CL?
I have 800 score (give or take), decent income (low 6 figures), low utilization on current CLs (prob under 10%), etc.
I am looking to take a larger BT (15 to 25K range). If initial is 10K or more, and I can talk them way up, then this could be a good deal for me.... would like a 30K+ line, so I can do a 20K or so BT.
iSeller said: Terms says no BT fees, after that a 3% fee or $5 whichever is greater. Is it referring to after application, or after the first year promotion?
It's referring to application, but sources (CSR's) confirmed you have 1-2 months after application.

Thanks for any data points!
Both my parents 750+ credit scores, one was instant 10k, other was 5-7 day 12k. Asked CLI for both upto 25k. Another 5-7 day.
Anyone know how best to pull the money out?
Thoughts: PLOC? Debit card #? I really don't want to send all the funds to a credit card.
How about a Credit Union Credit Card, then have them transfer the credit to the PLOC, then write out a check? I know it's more work but can it be done?
If so, whats the best way? Thanks.

Just applied recieved 5500 in credit. Credit score of 780 to 800. Close to 150000 in credit lines already with 10% utilized. Just recent purchased home so that might be the reason for 5500 limit.

I got a LinuxCard from them about 18 months ago, did the 12 month 0% game and then paid it off. The initial line was 10k.
Last month they increased it - to my big surprise - to 15k. I thought that something is changing in the lending world. That was my first unsolicited CL increase in at least 3 years.
A week later citi cut my $26,200 card ($0 balance) to $500. There we go.

if I remember right, they did not want to direct deposit into my checking account and BT to a debit card was not possible either. So I had to "pay down" my BofA card (that had no balance) and a cycle later BofA refunded the over-payment into my BofA checking account.

+1
Are you really going to say no to free money in this economy? Who said anything about arbitrage. Many people need the money JUST for their daily expenses/business cashflow/pay bills. Times are tough buddy, maybe not for you, but certainly the rest of us.

Call and ask for a CLI for a balance transfer. They do upto 25k no doc usually. YMMV

Any promo code for existing card holders? Or do I have to call a CSR to get in on this?

I was able to request a BT check sent directly to USAA and gave them my checking account number. Went in fine.

The "free money" philosophy is what got us into "this economy." There is no such thing...this is a no fee loan that still has to be repaid--not "free money."

The "free money" referred to here is the opportunity cost of having the extra liquidity for the given amount of time.
A question about applying individually vs. jointly. I'd like to apply with the wife's info., but would need to include my income to make the application worthwhile. I'm assuming I'd have to apply jointly if that's the case, or can I include my income since we are in the same household?
And when applying jointly, does that generate a hard pull on both of our CRs, and will the debt also appear on both?

2 points:
1. Re-financing an equity line, or other loan. 2. Using rewards checking accounts.

And when applying jointly, does that generate a hard pull on both of our CRs, and will the debt also appear on both? If the application asks for household income, you can use the combined income of everyone in your household, even if you (or your wife) are the only applicant for the credit card. If you apply jointly, you can expect to see a hard pull on both your credit reports, as well as the card payment history and balance information showing on both of your credit reports.
It's generally a bad idea to apply jointly for a credit card because it affects both of you credit-wise, which leaves less flexibility if you or your wife apply for additional credit cards. Both of your credit reports would suffer if delinquency issues or other problems with the card negatively impacted your credit.
I just called USBank to increase my CL for my exising platinum USBank card. I haven't had an increase in more than 18 months. The CR says they can increase my CL of only upto 1500.00. I asked for 10000. She says they are going to hard pull. I currently have 15k in CL and with the new increase it went upto 16.5k. Can i get a 0% BT with the above code '45233' mine is not a linux card though? Should i wait for the approval of 25k?
what is the customer support tel number ? Do i need to call US Bank CS .

Im thinking about buying a car soon. Should I delay any credit card applications until after the purchase? I am looking to transfer a couple of balances onto a 0% card...
