Yup, same here. Don't see any mention of the bonus miles.

If I got the Citi AAdvantage Visa 2 months ago for 30K+5K miles; would I get the 50+50 here by applying for the Citi Select / AAdvantage® American Express ® card ??

TIA

There is no mention of 50k+50K miles from the link, googled it and found 30k is max for AMEX/master

I Completely Understand what you all are saying and i just copy pasted the top part of the email. and that is why i mention this to be targeted.I am trying to figure out myself. I do not want to copy paste the whole information with my personal info.

It is probably by invitation only. I got a different email yesterday for 75,000 bonus miles after $1,500 in purchases within 6 months.

Got the 30K offer with 1st year fee waived. Joined the AAdvantage program a week or so ago.

"This email was sent to xxxxxx@xxx.com because you subscribe to AAdvantage® promotions emails."

Yup, same here. Don't see any mention of the bonus miles.

It is probably buried in the URL as his URL for 100K differs from mine for 30K in specific places for the same card.

It is probably buried in the URL as his URL for 100K differs from mine for 30K in specific places for the same card.

Over at Flyertalk, it's been deduced that everyone getting the 100k has the same URL, and it differs by 3 characters from the 75k offer, or the 35k offer. So, the link(s) appear universal.

However, the big question people are having is whether they'll still match the offer based on whether you received the e-mail. The problem is if there is a glitch in not getting the miles, it'd be pretty hard to "prove" to Citi you should be getting the miles without being able to point to a personalized e-mail or a publicly available URL.

So, it's a YMMV situation.

I got the 50/50 email, does anybody have a link for the 75k?

Citi AA Visa. This card will give you 75K points and 85$ fee waived for 1st 12 months. After submitting your application, call 1-866-606-2787 and ask for your miles amount. Have your application ID handy when you do this.

From SD:

https://www.citicards.com/cards/acq/Apply.do?app=UNSOL&sc=4XKIW7...

Would someone please post the full e-mail (for the 75k ideally) that was sent out? Does it differ at all from the first post?

Also, is there a direct link to the business Visa card?

Got the 75 email too now, WOOOHOO!

Does anybody know if these are actually targeted? I got several emails and the links are all the same. It appears as if they use no identifiable code in the URL.

This is the body of the 75k email:

As a cardmember, you’ll benefit from:

* 75,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles after $1,500 in purchases within the first 6 months of cardmembership1 — enough for select round-trip international travel awards2

People are saying it's not targeted on Flytertalk, however I think the only hard evidence would be the miles posting.

By that time the deal may well be dead.
I applied using the link at FTalk, instant approval with a paltry CL, and need to call in a couple bus. days to verify my promotion of 75k ffms.
We will see.

You're right, so do you think we could get away with one personal and one business card?

WATCHNSCOTCH said: You're right, so do you think we could get away with 1 personal and one business card?

Yes but I would do one now and wait for some more postings at FT and FW then go for the second. That way if the deal dies you at least got the first application in. If the deal's particulars get cleared up this coming week then you will know if you should pull the 2nd trigger.

I applied for the business card with 75k miles / $1500 spend. I'm not a fan of Citi and currently have none of their cards but 75k miles is worth at least $1000 - $1500, a good bonus for a credit card. I did the Chase BA 100k deal back in December so between the two I should have about 200k miles that I can use on AA in the near future

can u still fly internationally for 50k miles?

Honestly I would recommend flying business class or first class to get the most dollar value for your miles (International only). Especially with 100k miles being this easy to get. Some airlines let you pay a number of miles plus an upgrade free to turn a coach ticket into a business class ticket. I'm not sure if American still does this. Last time I used this method it was 50,000 miles plus $500 with AA, but that was in 2005.

Guys

Looked at the discussion on flyertalk but can't identify if I sign up for both AMEX & mastercard, will I get 75k miles for each? I've never held an aadvantage card before

Thanks

Read the discussion at the other deal site if you know what I mean. They have an extensive summary about this deal. Just search "miles" to get to the thread. I got 75kX2 and honestly think that 75k is a better deal than 100k due to less purchase required($1.5k vs $10k for 25k miles more...) It also seems that you can double dip and apply for the master/visa etc. after 60 days of your first two applications.

ahcool said: I got 75kX2 and honestly think that 75k is a better deal than 100k due to less purchase required($1.5k vs $10k for 25k miles more...)Building on what I said at the other deal site if you know what I mean:

Option 1: spend $1500, get 1500 + 75,000 = 76,500 miles
Option 2: spend $10,000, get 10,000 + 100,000 = 110,000 miles

Subtract: For spending an additional $8500, you get an extra 33,500 miles
33,500/$8500 = 3.94 miles for each dollar of spending

If you otherwise would have spent that $8500 on a 2% Cash Back card, you're costing yourself $170.

$170/33,500 = 2 miles per cent

For giving up this $170, you've got more than enough for a free round trip anywhere in "North America," and nearly enough for a round trip to Hawaii; you won't often get that for $170.

And it doesn't look like there's even any Cash Back card that good generally available. If you only earn 1% on your spending, you're getting almost a Hawaii round trip for $85.

LH2004 - agree with your strategy. I however signed up for (2) 75k cards and in 2 months, I'll try to get another 100k card. If I get the third card, it's the best deal that I could have picked. Agree?

Applied tonight using the link provided in an earlier post. Immediately called CITI for status and to confirm details of offer as these details were not included on the application (unlike the Southwest offer). Had to close an AMEX card that I had open but not used for about three years and transfer the credit line to the new card. Was issued AA card for 75k miles after $1,500 spend in six months, no annual fee first year.

Thanks OP!

i cross checked my application for American Express and they confirmed the offer. Bad part my application rejected.....

I had applied for a Citi AA World Master card (30K miles with annual fees) one months or so ago.. I was approved for that card immediately.

Now I applied for the 75K Citi AMEX card, they rejected the application saying that I can not apply for the second card which earns AA miles I have excellent credit, that is not an issue..

Any suggestions on how I can use this excellent offer??

Apply for the business Visa instead.

applied 75k biz card on 07/30, has been pending for the past 2 weeks. I called today and found it was declined. Talked to a rep and was told that I have reached maximum credit line available to an individual. I have 2 citi biz cards with 100k CL. I said I can close one biz card , she talked to a supervisor and then told me even if I close one biz card, it would be still a rejection. I hang up and called back, got the same answer.

I went through the application 5 steps and got the application Id. I also found my Equifax credit report was pulled. Is it possible to get this biz card approved?

Skipping 33 Messages...
