that is a pretty good signup bonus. I just got the chase continental card a few months ago to prepare for the UA merger.

edit: did my last churn in May so I need to wait until late Nov, hopefully the deal is still around.

The fee is from day one? And the points don't transfer well.

Except for the foreign transaction fees (or lack thereof), unless you are a big Hyatt user, this doesn't sound like a great card.

I would wait a few months as they are bound to come out with a new offer. Probably one where the annual fee is waived for the year. Great card otherwise!

This seems like a fantastic deal. If the "any Hyatt" rule really applies to your free nights, it could be worth nearly $900 if you were to stay two weekend nights at a Hyatt like this one in Carmel.

My first application was denied because I received the Chase United Card a few months earlier.

Reapplied in December, made a purchase and two nights were in my Hyatt account shortly after - one of the first rewards I didn't have to wait for a statement close to receive.

got my card last week and made a purchase. got the points and booked the park hyatt in milan italy for two nights for free. normal proce is 540 euro ($740) a night.

Thanks. Must have been another card that waived the 1st year annual fee. Still a good deal; 2 free nights and auto upgrade to Hyatt Platinum.
