after a few more laws pass, on the black market they will probably be worth millions. heh

Better stock up on ammo. It's getting hard to find. Reportedly it is tougher than the late 2008 crunch.

Too late to stock up. Just like 2008, you either pay the premium, or wait and hope for the prices to revert.

I've already sold most of my hoard. And I might have to sell the last of it to finance my Vegas trip next week. You see, people make mistakes all the time and I am no different. I haven't missed a payment, my carrying costs are low and I still have over a hundred grand of available credit to utilize.

This is an interesting development delzy- so you've sold off most of it and now have a bunch of available credit ?

I know most people want to attack the tinfoil hat theories but I'm more interested in what you're doing with the financial play- you probably made good money on that gold and silver . What's the next move , Vegas for double or nothing ?

I completely (dis)agree with you, Sis. Maybe I'm just rooting for the crazy bastard despite the Mayan prophecy fixation, but it sounds to me like the time may have come for Delzy to admit that he's...ahem..."lost" his hoard due to an unfortunate gambling addiction, as many of us suspected would happen. Tragic.

No matter what the real story is, great thread. Best of luck, Delzy!

It does seem odd for someone that thinks collapse is imminent and gold/silver being the one of the few valid sources of post collapse value (probably plus guns/ammo and food stockpiles) to have gotten rid of the precious metals.

I call shens on this thread.

Just a random data point..

About 2.5 years ago, I made a poor investment choice on a rental property which turned into a nightmare. I'm trying to salvage a bad thing into a good thing. The house is unsellable, but it is rentable - but I'm going to have to keep the mortgage on credit cards since I can't put a mortgage on it (title is uninsurable)

The point in this is that I've had about 100,000 dollars on credit cards at pretty much 0% over the last 2.5 years. I know it's not a quarter of a million - but I'm also not anywhere close to maxed out on what I COULD have put at 0%.

I have 2 50k Navy cards (wife and I) - that has had well documented 0% for the last 2 years and 2.9% the year before that. I have 2 40k cards at Penfed - and they've had pretty nice BT offers over the last 2 years. I also have a 25k liquid line of credit - so when it's time to 'roll over' the BT's, I simply pull the 25k out - pay off credit card A, BT line of credit. Take out line of credit, pay off credit card B - BT line of credit. Repeat as necessary.

The people boggling about carrying costs are way off in this thread. If I can float 120k for 3 years on 0% - I'm sure someone who is playing the game way better than I could probably can do the same.

Major update: The guns were sold at just above cost and the money was used to pay off the December purchases. As you might expect, my gambling problem has resulted in multiple major busts. This entire saga was a mistake from the beginning and will result in a complete loss of my ability to secure credit for the foreseeable future. While my net worth is extremely negative at the moment, I look forward to cleaning the slate for a fresh start by mid-summer. I wish to thank those who supported me and scorn those with ill will. Large rewards require large risks. And this one just did not pay off.. Recognizing my addiction to risk has been a major breakthrough at GA and I now understand that this board feeds that addiction.

Therefore, I must bid adieux to my FW frenemies and wish you all the best in your future financial endeavours. If you need me, you can find me at the bar with CN47.

Wait, you're going behind bars like Codename47!? I'm sorry to hear that.

So the online documentation of this journey appears complete. I hope the judge finds it an entertaining read.

A long strange trip.

So delzy gambled it all away?

H&B is bound to catch up with anyone after so long.......

LtWaldo said:   So delzy gambled it all away?

start from the beginning. He is committing fraud. He supposedly hid the silver somewhere and now is going to welch on the credit cards. If he actually did do this, which I very much doubt.

darn, he isn't coming back here anymore. i have like 10000 questions, especially how he plans on cleaning the slate for a fresh run by mid-summer...

olvrtw said:   darn, he isn't coming back here anymore. i have like 10000 questions, especially how he plans on cleaning the slate for a fresh run by mid-summer...

He means he will have bankruptcy declared by mid-summer and his net worth will at $0 instead of -$400,000 or whatever.

So is there still gold/silver buried somewhere or did the casinos end up with all of it?

I didn't think what OP did was right but that's beside the point. The mistake here is not accounting for one's own failing tendencies. ie. if you are an alcoholic, you don't pile beers all around the house. I do however, appreciate the update and wish him well.

umcsom said:   ...He supposedly hid the silver somewhere and now is going to welch on the credit cards.....Sooo.... people who work for Welch's have a propensity to not pay debts?

Or is there some other racial connotation to be made?

That's a huge development. Last I knew, the OP still had all of their hoard. "Sold off most of it?!"

EDIT: Didn't see this page of posts. Wish you all the best, Delz.

That's just a CYA post for the scam, which was the most probable end game from the start. it was either this or he makes a killing in PM. When credit cards come looking for the money he can pretend to be broke and point to this post, all the while having large amounts of money in physical goods, gold, and or money that is not in the system.

Since when do CC companies come looking at someone's post history on some corner of the internet that caters to credit card bonuses and free-after-rebate merchandise in bankruptcy cases? This entire thing just smacks of trolling.

I've been subscribed to this thread from the very beginning. All I can say is, BS. In the true spirit of FWF, pics?!? No pics of silver, no pics of guns. How hard is it to post pics of something? He didin't because this whole thing is a lie. Put up & post pics, or shut up.

Yeah, we all said the same thing back in the day. I think most of us wanted to believe OP, but unfortunately, OP is a liar.

This thread was started in 2010 and you have a join date of 2012, who are you?

Been around for quite a while as a lurker. However, I do recall asking OP to post photos a couple of times (here and via PM) and was ignored. Also, others have asked too. I had been lurking here well before this thread was started, and watched the thread from the date of inception with a watchful eye.

I only have this one account.

I salute the attempt. Sorry it didn't work out. But best wishes for the future.

But for now, I have some digging to do. I heard something about a big "W" in Santa Rosita that's piqued my interest.

(I'm showing my age, ain't I?)

I'm too lazy to check but I wouldn't be surprised if Delzy's posts (fairly explicit IIRC) regarding his master plan to make it look like he actually lost everything have all been edited.

Assuming - and this is a big assumption - that the whole thing wasn't just pure BS from the get-go.

A large Cache of firearms, major gambling binges, lost wages on trips to Vegas ( and the Rhino). Do not alienate yourself, or think you or your problems unique. Some of the best men I know (and some of the most successful) fell prey to such vices plus alcoholism. Heck, I just bought a new Sig last week. (Even novices are making a killing trading firearms after newtown.) Vegas continues unabated for a reason, and it's not the Bellagio fountains or the restaurants in Encore.

As someone who never assailed your efforts, I have to admit the flaw in your plan was the poor exit strategy. You bet your whole wad (rule # 1 violation) and you did not adequately hedge your bet. All of us who have bet the whole wad before similarly learned this lesson. 1-3 years of hard work to just return to where you were before is a great teacher.

Regardless,

Good luck.

Hey delzy
If you have anything
Left for one last trip to Vegas , lets have a final hurrah

We can share some good stories

Let me know I can join you. There is a girl at sapphire who said I was "The One".
She's nothing like the other girls, she just working to pay college tuition.

LOL, every man says this about his girl before he gets hitched, yet to see anyone who has said it after he got married

Fortunately it's easy to get married in Vegas... so it shouldn't be hard to test your hypothesis.

Turns out he had right idea but wrong medium. If he would have went bitcoins he would be worth a half mill now.

I just came to check in (as I often do on days when PMs tumble > 5% to read the hater comments). It is my opinion that Delzy is doing exactly what he set out to do--mask the source of his massive credit card debt so that it looks like his "gambling addiction" caused him to max out his credit cards, when the reality is that he has stashed away a decent amount of PM for himself.

It's ballsy, it's crazy, it's fraud! Whatever you call it, it's what Delzy set out to do and from the way I read the thread, it's exactly what he has done. Unless he truly got hammered by the casinos instead of achieving high roller status by playing low variance strategies, there's no way he lost the entire hoard. Even if he did, at least he lived like a boss for a while. Good on ya Delzy!

I've "borrowed" this joke twice since reading it and it absolutely killed both times. Thanks patch.

where is silver headed?

Delzy probably tired of this 2 year old troll he's been running on the forum.

germanpope said:   where is silver headed?

Silver to 15, Gold to 750.

jd2010 said:   Delzy probably tired of this 2 year old troll he's been running on the forum.

Rest assured if delzy had been right - or if gold moved up at even 5% faster than the DOW - he would be in here crowing about his genius and all the FWF economic doom porn lovers would be having a intellectual masturbation session over it. Its just not fun when the prediction was so obviously incorrect.

silver didn't go up with QE3 but it sure as heck got nailed at the end of it.

Just got back from a week in Vegas celebrating my $418k discharge. Woe is me... I guess I'll never learn.
