Today I relieved a letter in the mail from residential fiance corporation. Letter was marked time sensitive material in regards to a federal stimulus bill benefits. Inside lists the number 1-888-266-8180 for the Residential finance corporation in Columbus, OH. They are offering to refinance my house for interest rates as low as 3.75 when i am currently at 6%. Has anyone ever heard of this type of solicitation before. Is this company legit? How can I find out more about this organization and if I should be leery of there solicitation. Any information anyone has would be helpful. Thanks.

Today I received an email offering me cheap Viagra.

I deleted it and went on with my life. You should too.

Anyways serious answer if a company that sends out scammy letters can get you a better rate you almost certainly can get a better rate than the scammy company by going else where to more reputable companies. If you want a new mortgage (if you have equity and a decent credit score you can almost certainly do better than 6%) then take a look at various threads about mortgages in this forum.
