I'm wondering if some legal action took place to get the username changed...

If one's initial username can more or less uniquely identify someone, then the mods are pretty accommodating in allowing one to change it. I know, because back in the day, they did it for me (I was a bit nervous some of my crazier Hot Deals posts were going to get me blacklisted).

Your profile ID number is really the unique identifier in the backend, the display name that the mods can change is just for us. Interestingly enough the new display name for our most recent shill is "deleted_<profileID#>", so what SIS says about could have been a legal request makes a bit more sense.

I perhaps wasn't clear in what I meant by "uniquely identify." It had nothing to do with backend coding...I was referring simply to real life.

For example, some time ago, one of Hot Deals' frequent TCers openly admitted that he was cheating on his wife. Sure enough, a quick Google search revealed that his FW username was his username for everything else...including his Facebook profile with real name, home city, and wife's name. Smart.

Since it was quiet in this thread, I decided to check out what Referdia was up to. There's some interesting things I noticed.

1. Their site definitely looks nicer than it did the last time I viewed it.
2. You cannot view (even sample) deals by area unless you create an account. They have 6 sample deals posted on the deals page, but 3 are in Canada, 2 in Ohio, and 1 in Arizona. I have no plans of spending time in any of those places, so I'm not really impressed.
3. They now sell a premium membership level for $8/mo (discounted for 6 and 12 mo subscription paid up front). Without any way to view what deals are available (and the difference between regular deals and premium membership deals) who would want to sign up?

Groupon and LivingSocial don't charge for access to their sites. What makes Referdia think they can, especially without providing any relevant sample deals?

I can't comment on the relationship between Mr. Mintz and Invado simply because I don't know. I can tell you that he left the company in May of 2012. At this time, we're led by CEO Mike Thompson, a prominent mid-western businessman; COO Chris Thompson; and President Shawn Inks. If you like, I'd be happy to include their official bios here.

You might want to ask him to stop claiming he is still a Current Vice President & Co-Founder at Invado International

We have bigger things to worry about than getting Judd to update his linkedin page. lol.

Yeah, like the fact that you're a liar. Judd is intimately involved. There's a video posted on youtube (the offical InvadoTV channel), with Judd Mintz leading a sales pitch for this potential MLM pyramid scam (err.. I mean, "business opportunity")

Video was posted on Feb 6, 2013 and titled "Invado Business Opportunity Presentation 1-29-13"

Probably just another way to skim $8 a month off the front line soldiers. I wouldn't be surprised if they are required to get the premium membership to be able to sell the product. No freebies with Invado/Referdia.

Anyone know if Michael Quirk was fired?
I would love to get more shills on this.

Invado is a scam
Referdia is a scam

I spent money on this only because of the Daily Referral portion of the scam. 9 months or so after they said it would be up and running they changed their name to Referdia. The coupon deals I had set up with my customers never materialized. Then, the business model was going to change again.

THIS IS AN MLM SCAM. Don't waste your money or energy.

Why do they call themselves an INC as in Invado International Inc when their business record for Ohio says they are an LLC. See Ohio Business Search Result See Document # 201109601058 in that record changing name to Invado, Mintz is the signer.

If an entity only has an LLC filing can it call itself an INC? Can you hold your entity out to have a different liability status than it in fact does based on its filings? Anyone know?

I am not an attorney, but frequently negotiate contracts on behalf of an LLC (which had converted from a corporation). My attorney made it clear that I am always supposed to refer to the entity as a company (not a corporation). I'm not sure if she's just being cautious/specific, or if there's really an issue.

He has stolen money from many women and elderly people besides what he was caught for securities fraud and convicted for. He lied about being married to his wife Julie for 15 years and claim they have 4 children.... He was in prison then and proir to prison he was on a rampage of theift! He is very slick and abusive and has left so many screwed over.. Any companies or people associated with this creep I would stay very very far away!!!! I hope Julie his wife if that is true is safe.

It looks like maybe Invado/Referdia has finally crashed and burned (or maybe Andre Maronian - formerly of the Invado scam - wants people to think that).

It looks like Maronian launched a new MLM called MyLife, and posted on Facebook about a failed negotiation to transition Invado/Referdia reps over to his new MyLife company.

Dear MyLife Network Family,

As MyLife Network announced our exciting prelaunch this month, we also engaged in good faith discussions with InVado International in regards to offering a home for the InVado representative base and something that would be beneficial for both companies. Both parties, jointly, wanted to work together to make a smooth transition but we knew we were working against the clock.

InVado International announced today that the deal was no longer a viable solution for either party and the loss of financing. Although we accept InVado Internationals decision to walk away from the deal, we are saddened that the deal did not have the time needed to finalize properly. It was never either parties intent to hurt the representative. We are still in communication for the potential of marketing energy and referdia and will keep you abreast of that progress as we can.

It is important for me to clear up any confusion that may have resulted from this announcement with respect to MyLife. MyLife, as a company, is properly financed and has a strong foundation for growth. As stated in previous communications, MyLife Network is in prelaunch with a May 2013 launch date. Based on our company name, mission, purpose, dedication to lives, commitment to philanthropy, broad product/service strategy, and compensation plan, we are already seeing unbelievable interest and involvement. A buzz is spreading across North America about MyLife Network and it confirms that our purpose to make YOUR SUCCESS our flagship product is what this industry so desperately needs.

I want to assure you that MyLIfe Network is progressing rapidly as our official launch will be here in no time. Stay tuned as we continue to give you sneak peaks on what your life will be with MyLife.

Sincerely,
Andre Maronian

Andre here is a better idea ... Go with a company with 50 years of strength and proven record. If you are in it for the network capabilities go to Newtork 21.

There already is a company called MyLife. The wikipedia page for the company lists such awesome things as spoofing email, a BBB F rating, an Attorney General lawsuit against them, and class action lawsuits against them.

Sounds perfect for Maronian.

The shills are back, and they can't even spell the name of their company correctly.

For the purposes of google,

Network 21 is a scam
Invado is a scam
Mylife is a scam

Wow, we can watch a new MLM "opportunity" grow from a seed. Out of all the BS on that Facebook page, I saw two mentions of a product. A home alarms system and some sort of Coffee Bean .

Interestingly, referdia still "exists."

They have some sort of relationship now with the entertainment book people, such that their "deals" are essentially the entertainment coupons.

The difference being that you can buy an entertainment book for $10 or less on clearance, or even potentially sign up for a free online account, whereas for referdia you spend $8 per month, every month.

What a scam!

Referdia press release said:
Referdia’s unique membership subscription plans give shoppers the ability to claim an unlimited number of retailer discount offers without the need to pay for them upfront.

It's so unique ... I believe the rest of the world call this a COUPON.

Yeah, you'd think the President of such a successful and brilliant company could offer his girlfriend something worth more than $100 in "smart dollars."
