Just got this in the mail. Not "directed" because there is no special code or "private" link. I can't apply because I've had 4 Continental cards over the last 2 years and they reject me for everything now. FYI, The app asks if you have been rejected for credit by Chase within the last 6 months. $95/yr, first year fee waived
My passes were inside the "membership guide" booklet which I received about 2-3 weeks after getting the card.

Where's the profit? You will now have to pay the $95 yearly fee for year 2 so you made a whopping $5 !

Great... I'll take another look, I probably just missed them. Thanks!

The OP's 50,000 miles offer is now expired. The current offer available to all (NO previous MileagePlus account membership needed) is get 25,000 miles after first purchase and 5,000 miles after adding authorized user (think parents, brothers, sisters). And for those big spenders, you can get an additional 10,000 miles after spending $25,000 in a calendar year. link. Most people may not get the 40,000 miles, but the 30,000 is easy to get.

Actually it does but you need to create a Mileage Plus account first so you would click on ENROLL ONLINE INSTANTLY if you don't have one. If you already have a MP account you enter it in the box. Without the MP account there is no place to put your miles. After you do that it takes you to the application.

This has been an on going offer. If you have united account and log on, you will see this offer pop out at the bottom right hand corner ( I think).

Just to add, they're pretty quick to credit you the miles. I got my 50,000 miles in my account before the first bill even arrived.

From what I know and many other forums have posted, you'll need a miles balance. Otherwise you got the 40k offer.

I believe it is 30,000 now (at least that's what mine says (25K + 5K for a 2nd user) when I login and I have plenty of miles and 50,000 through the link in the OP. See screen prints.

Haven't looked at my account in 3 or 4 years so i didn't even know they've changed my mileageplus account number. After i signed in i saw the 40k bonus mile offer instead of the 50k that OP posted. I'm not sure if i should apply for this as i've had UA credit card before but canceled it many noons ago.

Ok, hope i didn't make a mistake by applying it. I used the OP's link and still pulls up the 60k promotion so i went ahead and applied, but i got the "30-day written notice" bla bla so doesn't look too good. I just got their Chase Freedom card last Sept so i wonder they'll deny this one since i've already had 2 (freedom and Amazon visa). Has anyone else applied for this one yet?

The 40K is actually 25K if you read the fine print and the 60K from the link is actually 50K as posted.
Yes, I was rejected for "too many cards, too many applications." My CS at all 3 bureaus is close to 800 however I've opened like 15 accounts in the last 18 months and closed a whole bunch as well so I have to hold off for 6-8 months.

Yikes. My credit score was 798 as of this past February, then i applied the NFL card in that month and my score just dropped 8pts or so. In the last 15 months, i've applied and got 3 cards (not including this very application) so nowhere near the amount you had. I did open a few bank accounts last year and had one RCA application got rejected last Sept. Wonder if that will play a part of it...

For anyone getting declined, Chase's reconsideration number is (888) 245-0625. If you have other Chase cards you can sometimes convince them to reallocate some of your CL from a different card to this one in order to get the account opened.

can points be redeemed for giftcards or statement credit?

The rewards from this card are United Airlines miles that post directly to your United Mileage Plus account, so no, you can't get gift cards or statement credits with them. Some sites do let you redeem miles for gift cards, but you usually get *really* awful rates doing that.

There is a bit of a screw-up with many people's accounts if you do this (it's been reported on other forums, and happens to me as well). The offer shows as 60K when you log on, but then when you click the offer, it takes you to a 40K application instead. Using the OP's link, on the other hand, successfully takes you to the 60K application.

I have no miles in my account, and I received the 50,000 mile offer. It said 60,000, 50 after first use, 10 more after $25,000 in a year. I was approved. I only have 1 other Chase card. Hopefully I get it before my trip in a couple weeks. Quick $50 saved on checked luggage.

50,000 miles can be traded in for 500,000 points at HHonors. The 500,000 HHonors points can then be redeemed for $1,000 in gift cards at a number of different retailers and restaurants.
Edit: a good way to convert hhpoints to either miles or gift cards, but doesn't look like this will work for converting united miles to gift cards

Are you sure it is 500k Hilton points for 50k miles. I think it will be just 100k Hilton points for 50k miles.

Thanks a lot buddy. I was looking for a 60k promo for my roommate just yesterday but couldn't find any and we were debating about applying for the 40k promo until we realized it was a 25 +5+10. Just applied for it and waiting for review.

Once I log in to my mileage plus account, I do not see the application page at all. Do you guys think it is because I already have a Chase Continental card and that card was recently converted to the United card?
NothinisFree said: can points be redeemed for giftcards or statement credit?
Its better than giftcards...I've redeemed my miles for international travel and I've got ~4cents/mile. If I was inclined or willing to travel at the right times (when there are saver award promos), I'd easily get over 6cents/mile. Easily the best conversion ratio out there on any credit card reward program out there.

You are spot on! Just to let everyone know, I have had Continental and united card within last couple of years (which were closed sometime in late 2011). I applied for this card in late Feb and got approved. To make this offer more interesting, I am using the Netflix offer in conjunction with this card to get an extra 4000 miles so 54000 united/cont. pts for $8 and a credit inquiry is not a bad deal for me.

Just a heads up for those who don't have any miles in their account. I made a small purchase through their online rewards mall and earned like 40 pts. I then saw the 60K offer a few days after my purchase.

Indeed but the 1000 point bonus requires a purchase of $50 or more at a qualifying restaurant and then a review of the restaurant afterwards. That being said, I made a $3 purchase at a qualifying bakery near where I work and I got 7 miles posted about a week later. Offer now shows as 60K.

i would apply but i already got denied by the chase southwest card. called and it was because i had already opened credit in the past 30 days. i asked to rebalance credit limits and was able to open the southwest card. i would probably need to wait at least 30 days before opening this united card.
