United Mileage Plus Explorer card, 50,000 Miles after first use

Just got this in the mail. Not "directed" because there is no special code or "private" link. I can't apply because I've had 4 Continental cards over the last 2 years and they reject me for everything now. FYI, The app asks if you have been rejected for credit by Chase within the last 6 months.

The link dones not link to "apply a credit card". Can you please fix it?

From what I know and many other forums have posted, you'll need a miles balance. Otherwise you got the 40k offer.

I believe it is 30,000 now (at least that's what mine says (25K + 5K for a 2nd user) when I login and I have plenty of miles and 50,000 through the link in the OP. See screen prints.

Ok, hope i didn't make a mistake by applying it. I used the OP's link and still pulls up the 60k promotion so i went ahead and applied, but i got the "30-day written notice" bla bla so doesn't look too good. I just got their Chase Freedom card last Sept so i wonder they'll deny this one since i've already had 2 (freedom and Amazon visa). Has anyone else applied for this one yet?

Yes, I was rejected for "too many cards, too many applications." My CS at all 3 bureaus is close to 800 however I've opened like 15 accounts in the last 18 months and closed a whole bunch as well so I have to hold off for 6-8 months.

Yikes. My credit score was 798 as of this past February, then i applied the NFL card in that month and my score just dropped 8pts or so. In the last 15 months, i've applied and got 3 cards (not including this very application) so nowhere near the amount you had. I did open a few bank accounts last year and had one RCA application got rejected last Sept. Wonder if that will play a part of it...

I see 60k for me. it's ymmv. I used to have (2006) this card, closed in 2007. Would like to apply if it this gives me 75k.

The rewards from this card are United Airlines miles that post directly to your United Mileage Plus account, so no, you can't get gift cards or statement credits with them. Some sites do let you redeem miles for gift cards, but you usually get *really* awful rates doing that.

I have no miles in my account, and I received the 50,000 mile offer. It said 60,000, 50 after first use, 10 more after $25,000 in a year. I was approved. I only have 1 other Chase card. Hopefully I get it before my trip in a couple weeks. Quick $50 saved on checked luggage.

50,000 miles can be traded in for 500,000 points at HHonors. The 500,000 HHonors points can then be redeemed for $1,000 in gift cards at a number of different retailers and restaurants.

Are you sure it is 500k Hilton points for 50k miles. I think it will be just 100k Hilton points for 50k miles.

You're right. I guess I was reading into "points for miles" a little bit too enthusiastically.

Once I log in to my mileage plus account, I do not see the application page at all. Do you guys think it is because I already have a Chase Continental card and that card was recently converted to the United card?

You are spot on! Just to let everyone know, I have had Continental and united card within last couple of years (which were closed sometime in late 2011). I applied for this card in late Feb and got approved. To make this offer more interesting, I am using the Netflix offer in conjunction with this card to get an extra 4000 miles so 54000 united/cont. pts for $8 and a credit inquiry is not a bad deal for me.

i would apply but i already got denied by the chase southwest card. called and it was because i had already opened credit in the past 30 days. i asked to rebalance credit limits and was able to open the southwest card. i would probably need to wait at least 30 days before opening this united card.
