I rec'd one for the TY Premier card and the TY (generic) card -- both Mastercard (vs. Visa). The mailers are generic (edit:looked generic, but provides the last 4 digits of my card number in fine print), but one provides $5 statement credit per provider (TY Premier), and one offers $10 credit per provider (TY regular), that is a total of $25 = $5 * 5 and $40 = $10 * 4. The web address is:
http://mastercard.com/citiautobillpay

the fine print on my letter said its only to certain members who receive this letter. good to know im not the only one who got it. now im just wondering if its just 1 auto pay per month? or 1 auto pay for that 2 month span? and how would they know its an auto bill pay?

Because the payments were scheduled with their auto debit service?

so the citi can tell it is an auto pay as opposed to a regular payment? like if i made a payment to my cable company is it different than a scheduled payment done through the cable company?

bump?

i got a 2,500 TYP for scheduling 5 auto payments between now and end of july

When I look at my AMEX account Verizon is noted as recurring, Comcast is not.
(Although Comcast may use a code which I don't see).

I received the 5 x 500 TYP offer which I'm not switching for - would rather have 6x Hilton Honors Points from AMEX.

did you get an email confrimation every time an auto payment went through?

When you make auto payments, do they charge a fee?

Got one as well in yesterday's mail, though I didn't read it close enough to determine which of my 3 rarely-to-never-used TY cards (all converted from other types) it was in relation to.... but I did see the fine print about "being determined to be recurring by Citi"....and in case I wasn't yet convinced this one wasn't worth the hassle of changing 5 billing arrangements and changing them back in 3 months, that about cinched it...no doubt all of my would-be autopays wouldn't be seen that way by Citi.

It looks like a nice bonus and a convenient way to pay bills with the CC. However, is there downside with this deal? What happen if his server is down for an extended period of time and you are not able to log in to receive your bills or paying your bills?

The point of automatic bill payments is not having to log in.

Just to be clear my understanding of this is I set up automatic bill payments on billing website (of Verizon, Comcast etc.) using my Citi Thank You card and Citi will determine that the payment is recurring and give me bonus TYPs.

This is the way I pay most of my monthly bills so I don't actually log in to any website to pay my bills.

Auto payments meaning for your car they may treat as a cash advance not a purchase.

Automatic payments for utilities, phone, cable etc. no fee.

i made a few manual and 1 or 2 auto payments... let's see what happens...

i contacted citi and they said they have never heard of such an offer. i had to fax them a printout of the email with the offer. anyone else with a similiar problem?
