• $200 annual credit for airline incidentals*
• Premier Concierge Service and more*

With these bennies, I bet they might. Similar to AMEX Platinum.

Airport Lounge list is limited, but they are good lounges:

Thanks!

Note that this is a Chase card.

Gave it a shot, they are reviewing application, will post result later. Thanks!

I was browsing the lounge list and noticed that at the Air France lounge at ORD, they had this rule:

"Smart casual dress at all times (no shorts, vests, baseball caps or football shirts allowed.)"

Since it's Air France, do you think "footbal shirt" means you can't wear your "Da Bears!" shirt or your "Manchester United"?

(and basketball shirts are okay?)

Actually, it could be two nights.

You get 70,000 points on first use and the RC properties start at 30K points/night and go up to 70K for the top tier hotels.

n/m - i read this wrong

I read it as a complimentary night using your 70000 points, not a complimentary night PLUS 70000 points.

Am i misunderstanding?

Can these points be transferred to a Marriott Rewards account?

Just wondering since Marriott rewards allows one to use Marriott points to book Ritz-Carlton hotels.

Annual Membership Fee

None first year. After that, $395

Yeah, headline caught my attention but isn't really true. First year waived is typical. Still a $400 AF.

I am blacklisted by CHASE. Grrrrr.

I don't know if you can transfer points to Marriott Rewards account.
But according to this LINK,
it said: "You may also redeem your points at the Marriott family of participating hotels worldwide."

Customers can be a member of either Ritz-Carlton Rewards or Marriott Rewards; not both.

"Previous and existing Ritz-Carlton or Marriott Rewards® Credit Card cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer. If your account is not open for at least 6 months, Ritz-Carlton and Chase reserve the right to deduct the bonus points from your Ritz-Carlton Rewards account."

From the T's and C's

Which means I'm not eligible. Thanks for the info!

I just opened the Marriott Chase card last month, with bonus, so I guess I am out for this offer =(., The airport loung plus a free night at the Ritz caught my attention big time.

can't you apply for this card w/o a Rewards # , get Ritz pts and then call to combine?

need 60K Marriott pts for a great Hawaii redemption deal ad I got this week (redeem 140K pts get a week!)

I'm not certain, I pulled my comment from a review of the Ritz program over at viewfromthewing. I'm banking on no. If you're married, or know someone who'll play the CC game, have the other person apply for the Marriott 70k signup bonus. You can merge points in 2 Marriott Rewards accounts. I bet there's a discussion on it over at flyertalk, but I haven't looked.

I got that same ad from Marriott yesterday, and I'm also sitting at 80k pts in my Marriott account. Seems like a pretty good deal. I'd still probably pick miles+hotel redemption option tho (min 200k rewards pts).

My credit application went to pending status so I called the backdoor number and was told that there is an annual fees unless I prove them that I am a Ritz Carlton resident owner.

Would be interesting them claiming that, as the legal stuff (terms and pricing sheet) don't mention an ownership requirement, just a $0 first year annual fee.

CS called today and left a message. I called back. They wanted to know if $25K was a high enough limit. It is. I asked what the annual fee was told free the first year, After that, $395. No mention of have to be a Ritz Carlton resident owner

Neiman Marcus 100 gc is 24000 points 200gc 42k

They also have bergdorf goodman at same rate. Also their own RitzC gift cards 200 dollars for 42k
100 dollars for 22k

Not bad since no minum spend to get.

UPS dropped off a box on my doorstep, and I do mean a box! I've never had a CC delivered in such a fancy way; the box probably cost more than what I am going to spend on the card. Nothing about the bonus in package, but that is nothing new. Hope to see my points on my first or second statement. Thanks OP!

Congrats!
I`m so eager to apply, but got several Chase cards within the year: one in November, one business in May, and another one in June...plus AMEX in May...but I`m so tempted

card received, easy $$$

I don't want to hijack this thread, but my wife and I were just approved for RC Visas which just came in the mail. Wow; they look like birthday presents! In any case, coincidentally, we have a vacation trip booked straddling 2012/2013 (leaving 12/25 returning 1/1/13) and I wanted to ask everyone's advice on the most efficient way to use $200 airline credit (we can end up with equivalent of $800 for the two of us). I understand we can apply baggage fees (we are flying Virgin America; they charge $25 per checked bag). We can also have a few drinks during the flight. In addition, I may try to get a better seat (my understanding is that upgrades are covered?). What else can we do? Does shopping the inflight catalog count? What about Duty Free since this is international? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Here is a great link to get you started. Browse into the links for particular carriers and read peoples' experiences on what gets reimbursed, and what doesn't.

I'm not sure how these AMEX Platinum experiences translate into airline fee waiver for the R-C card. You'd have to chance it and do some testing

To add to centrifuge41's comment, no way to know if the rules are the same as AMEX Plat --- but, with AMEX the shopping wouldn't count since that has nothing to do with the airline (other than the catalog is on the plane). Duty free? You mean the duty free stores in the airport, again, not charged by the airline, nor is the wireless internet on board (although the in-flight entertainment does qualify).

With AMEX, you can purchase lounge passes (day or annual), that could possible be useful.

It's well established that if your chase application is pending, you should call the reconsideration line.

A buddy of mine just applied for this card, and JP Morgan called him within 10 minutes of submitting his application, asked him to call 888-846-7004

Anyone else experience that?

In regards to the app or a credit issue, sure, but in regards to the residency requirement, no.

Just saw my father in law's card welcome box. wow!

anyone cancel their Marriott CC and get this?

I was approved and received my card (nice box, as others have said). It appears the rewards are administered through RitzRewards.com, so I assume a registration at RitzRewards.com is necessary for redemption of the awards points granted by Chase. Just wondering how the two get "connected." Can anybody shed some light?

Anybody end up getting the card after being under review? Wondering what the hold up could be, my history with chase is pretty good...
