There were a few United Explorer Credit Card application bonuses around lately. This imho is the best.

50,000 Miles after 1st use.
+
5,000 Miles for adding Authorized User.
+
$50 Statement credit after 1st use.
(+ 10,000 Miles after $25k spend within a year)

Annual fee $95, waived for 1st year.

Might have to be logged in to United miles account to have link work. = YMMV.

If you have United Miles, there's a way to get a 60k signup bonus. you have to login to your United account first. And not everyone is getting it.
If you can't get 60k miles, this is a better alternative than other 40k offers out there.

This is the 60K offer. 50K on first use + 10K for spending $25K in first year. Repost.

(In those two threads the $50 statement credit isn't in the OP but is mentioned later on).

I believe this offer is an additional 5k miles. 55k vs 50k. Both offers can net an additional 10k after 25k spend.

Didn't read through both threads entirely, but from what I have read most links gave EITHER additional 5k points OR $50 credit. Link in op gives BOTH.

So this is not the 50k ("60k") offer. This is the 55k ("65k") + $50 offer.

The offer has been out there. From the second thread I linked, here's the first mention on 4/18:

Or, if you want 65k miles (50+5+10) and a $50 statement credit, you can get this offer: https://www.theexplorercard.com/MPConsumer65k50AFWIC.aspx (you have to be logged in to your United account to see it). The first 50k is for first spend, the 5k is for adding an authorized user (free), and then the 10k is for spending a bunch of money.

Perhaps it deserves it's own thread to call out the best offer available, though.

May need a United frequent flyer account with some miles accrued.

Is this a good deal ($50 credit) if I am NOT a frequent flyer?

If you can find other uses for the miles, yes. If not, a hard pull on your credit score is not worth $50 imo.

You have to be logged into your United MileagePlus account already and you might need a non-zero miles balance.

Is there any 0% BT also available with this offer; that would be sweet.

Green for you all guys anyway!

I was logged in but I do have a 0 balance. Can anyone with a non zero balance confirm it is still good?

Yes, I can see the OP's offer after I login. I have more than 125K miles. I should probably get this but not sure if I will qualify since I have the converted OnePass card (from April 2011).

I hear you need miles. Sign up for united rewards dining. Go eat at a participating restaurant, you should have some miles within a week. Another option is united broadway audience rewards. Could get 10 miles in a week or so if you get the questions right.

Worked like a charm once I logged into United.com. There were 0 miles in the account. Thanks!

Does anyone know if the Visa Platinum card (if granted) would include all of the same bonus offers? Since they can approve you for either, I was just wondering since I got an "approved" message when I helped a relative apply. I thought this meant the deal was on, but now that I read the fine print about Visa Platinum I wonder....

Fine Print:
"You will first be considered for a Visa Signature card. If you do not qualify for the Visa Signature card, you will automatically be considered for a Visa Platinum. The Signature and Platinum cards have different credit availability and benefits/benefits levels. Platinum benefits do not include the Concierge Service. For pricing details, please see Pricing & Terms. For benefits details, please read your credit card benefits materials which will be mailed after your account is established."

Can I transfer Chase UR points from Freedom and/or Sapphire to this card to be used for travel?

You don't transfer it to the card. You transfer points from Sapphire Preferred (or Ink Bold) directly to your United MP account. If you only have a Freedom and a Sapphire non-preferred, then transferring points is a no go.

It just changed to only 40k miles while I was applying!

Just received a mailer, USPS sheared off the top half but it reads "50% more miles from June 20th to August 20th, 2012.

So this is effectively 1.5 miles/$1 all purchases, 3 miles/$1 United purchases.

I was actually coming here to start a new thread if there wasn't one, because I consider this a new and different offer. Added an image of the offer I saw.

How are people completing the 25k requirement for the extra 10k miles?

They aren't. Just taking the free 55K + $50.

Actually, maybe this is a slightly differe offer. I don't see a statement credit:

"Earn 50,000 bonus miles after first use and 5,000 additional bonus miles after your first card use and for adding an authorized user within two months of opening your account. Plus earn 10,000 after you spend $25,000 on your Card within a calendar year."

Yes, no statement credit here, just the 50k plus 5k which was confirmed upon card activation over the weekend. Thanks OP... 55k points plus the 8K I already have will pay for a trip using 12,500 saver points per segment per person...

Are there other ways to redeem points besides the auction and merchandise sites (i.e. gift cards)?

Seems DEAD.

Log into my account which has the miles balance, but the link shows the 40K offer.

Tried the direct link and the result is same.

Anyone confirm?

what's the max value of these points? How many domestic ticket can you get with 50K? I tried this deal with continental card .. but couldn't get any flight when i wanted at decent point - turned out i was better off getting hotel nights (around 5 nights).

I just applied several hours ago and was instantly appoved for the 50+5+10 and $50 statement credit for $1,000 spend. Can confirm later when and if it all posts to my account.

Then it went dead after you did that.

Just about to pull the trigger on this, and though the ad shows 65K miles, once you actually go to the link. it only shows 40K miles.

No deal. Wonder if I screenshot the ad and call in if anyone can make this happen for me?

Try:
a) logging in
b) having a non-zero balance
c) pasting the URL a few times

I finally got the offer to appear, signed up, and it said it needed more review.
I'll probably have to call in and get it approved since I've gotten a couple new chase cards back in April.

Copy/Pasting the link still works. Immediate approval. Also saw the offer when I was logged into my Mileage Plus account below my current status. Thanks OP.

Hmm copy and pasting https://www.theexplorercard.com/MPConsumer65k50AFWIC.aspx still re-directs me 40k offer.

Where do you find my current status when logged into my Mileage Plus account?
I looked everywhere and can't find that, I looked below, above, everywhere.
Thanks!

I think you need to be logged in to your United Mileage Plus account at the time. It works for me...but my browser remembers my United login and logs me in automatically.

Got this deal 2 weeks ago. Thanks OP.

I transfered 1000 points from a chase saphire account to my mileage plus account and the offer showed up. Thanks OP.
