One of my Chase accounts was messed up (long story), so I was given an option to reapply for the same card. They fixed the initial one, but it looks like the second (with the same promo) is in process. I doubt they will give me another bonus since these are duplicate, so I am looking for the best current promo to be applied for the duplicate one. I like miles I can convert into my United miles, but have both personal and business Explorer cards. Please help. Other juicy bonuses from Chase are for consideration as well. Preferably without a spending requirement, but I can swallow it if it worth it.

Just how much can you swallow?

$3K, over that would be a struggle (I`m on a mission to spend $10K for AMEX and $15K on Chase already)

I think sapphire preferred is the only chase card that allows you to transfer points into miles.

Do you think any other promo beats it in value?

It's a solid choice. Those 40k points can easily be sold for 1.5-1.6 cents each if you wanted straight cash also. There is a thread here where a few users are known to buy them by sending the money first (http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/finance/1162773/) So the value is about $640 for those 40k points if you decided not to transfer them into miles. Only thing to keep in mind is that there is an annual fee (waived for the first year), so if you don't see the value in the 7% point bonus and other features of the card, be sure to call them around month 9 to cancel or convert it to the free sapphire version. I say month 9 because they may offer you another deal for more points that you could take advantage of before really cancelling or converting before the annual fee would be due.
