log into Discovercard.com to sign up for the promotion (same as the two Oct. promotions although I didn't click on the details link to see if there was a max limit this time).

No limit is mentioned. The question is though: does 2% CashBack bonus mean 2% on top of regular CashBack (which is 1% in my case making the total cb 3% = good) or instead of regular CashBack (total cb 2% only = not good enough, would use a different CC for my BF purchases)?

Historically it's been total 2%. Discover has done these monthly it seems. It makes my Open Road card somewhat more useful than normal, plus I generally do my Amazon and Discover Payments on these days as well.

Discover has 5% CashBack already for online purchases, so I'm sure this doesn't stack..

The 2% does stack on top of the 5% quarterly categories. However, I think the 2% is instead of the everyday CashBack of 0.25%-1%. See the other Discover threads (for the previous two 2% CashBack bonuses and for the 5% category bonus):

It should stack with the 5%, But it's only going to add 1% because part of the conditions are you don't get the .25-1% basic on the transaction. For my card, the 5% is composed of 1% basic + a 4% bonus.

I think the 2% should fully stack with Shop Discover though, because that amount is fully in addition to other CashBack.

Thanks OP, Discover didn't have this advertised at log in, like the previous offers. (Maybe they were waiting until closer?).

I clicked on the Cash Back section and there was a link close to the top of the page.

I received 7% on an Amazon payment made on 10/6 and I think several others have reported this too (5% online and 2% promo on 10/6).

Just got off the phone with Discover regarding a different CashBack issue that didn't post when my statement cut...but I did inquire, casually, about the 5% and 2% stacking with a supervisor. She said it, 100%, stacks making the total equivalent, with the extra 2% promos, to be 7% (on top of the current 5% rotating categories).

Also, an important thing to note that I've never heard of: if you make a purchase within 5 days of the cycle close date, the CashBack rewards show up on the NEXT statement cut date. I never knew this, and I hope it will save a few people from calling Discover asking the same question I did: "where's my 7% CashBack?!"

Be careful, I made some purchases on the last 2% day and I would say only half posted on the date of transaction. It seems the Amazon and eBay/paypal purchases have the highest likelihood of posting on the transaction date. Some other purchases, bill pays, posted some 3 days later negating the Cash Back promotion for a particular date.

I am cross-posting this only because this went to HD as well.

I could not find the link as easy as others. Try this URL:

It might be best to login to your normal account then copy/paste this URL into the same browser.
