Then how would Chase know if your account is using the AU card rather than the primary account holders card if both card numbers and card security code are exactly the same

rated:
I did not say the security codes were the same.

I have earned miles on bckstgr but can't figure out how to transfer to my mileageplus account so I see
the 50,000 mile bonus offer? Can anyone tell me what I need to do? Thanks

rated:
I added an additional card during the sign up process and the card number and security codes are the same

Either way, a card isn't just the account number and security code. Each card has a unique electronic ID that is recognized when it goes into the payment processing system through a swipe. I bet the additional card needs to be swiped to qualify for the first use.

If for unknown and frustrating reasons you can't get 'social media' miles on bckstgr (like me), try the following: First, move to New York (i.e. set it as the state on your profile), then go to earn > NYC > click the 'we have a secret worth sharing' offer > click the banner per the instructions. My 25 miles posted within a matter of minutes.
I was then able to see the 50K miles offer W/OUT $50 statement credit. I pasted OPs link into the same browser session and saw the offer!
Since I pulled a switcheroo, I'm not positive taht I'll get the $50 statement bonus, but since the page didn't redirect to the 30K offer or back to the 50k offer w/out SC, I'm pretty confident it'll work.

Thanks for the info and link OP!
Got the miles and card offer -- Thanks...

that's awesome! thanks so much. but fyi you don't have to 'move' to NY, just click the USA or NYC link on the earn page.

i've been racking my brain trying to link my wife's fake social media pages to that stupid site ARG!

ETA: that worked to get the 50K + $50 + 5K AU bonus deal, but got deferred and have to call the recon line tonight.

I am confused by the "just click the USA or NYC link on the earn page". Is the earn page just from the United home screen main menu under "mileage plus", the option "earn award miles"? Where is choosing USA or NYC an option?

sorry for the confusion.. go here https://bckstgr.com/ and create a profile, link it to your mileage account and then hit the 'earn' button on the bckstgr page.

When I was activating the card, the CS said something to the extent of "Oh I see you have an additional authorized user. That will earn you 5000 bonus miles" or whatever. I'm not sure if that card even actually needs to be used. Same security code on mine as well.

it does need to be used once within 3 months..

5,000 bonus miles
after you add an authorized user to your
account and make a purchase with your card
during the first 3 months as a Cardmember.

i set up the AUs on the applications. i'm an AU on wife's card, she's an AU on mine.

not sure if this phone # is out there yet, but my wife's app was deferred due to her united miles account being in her maiden name (united requires docs to change to married name and we never switched that). the name is pre-filled on the CC app, so the app does not match her current credit report name. the rep at the recon dept gave this # to call to speak with a 'customer support specialist for verification'. 800-278-8830

Interesting, the first time I tried the link it gave me a message about the deal not being valid in my area. Switched to New York and it worked. Either way, glad you got it to work too.

rated:
Weird, I was able to use backstgr to get some 250 extra miles today but I still only see the 30k points offer. I'll have to try it again later.

edit: Spoke to soon. Reused that original link, magic! Thanks everyone!

Miles just hit my account. SWEET!!

Got the $50 credit, and my statement closed 2/7 (after spending the $1000), but I didn't receive the 50K bonus. I did however get the 5000 AU bonus (never used the AU card). Oh well, I guess I'll have the wait a month for my 50K.

cheeseman said:   Thanks, OP... worked perfectly. I got this exact deal a little over a year ago, so it will be interesting to see if I get the bonus. I'm thinking I'll make a small charge on the credit card once I get it, and see if the $50 statement credit shows up. If so, I'll spend the $1000 looking for the 50K miles.

Has anyone who previously received this offer got the bonuses this time around?

An update for anyone who has already received a MileagePlus mileage bonus in the past... I just got the $50 credit posted to my account, 3 days after making a small charge. I think this is a good sign that I'll get the full mileage bonus, even though I got it last year too. I'm going to spend the $1000, and see if I get the 50000 miles.

I've also received the $50 statement credit. I've spent my $1000 and am hopeful that I will receive the 50k + 5k miles once the statement closes later this month. Just as a reference point, I had an Explorer card that I closed 2 weeks before signing up for this one. My card had been converted from a Continental card which I got 50k miles on, and I also had a United Mileageplus card in the past that I got 50k miles on.

Thanks OP, was just approved.

I forgot to add an additional card on the application. Anyone know if I will still get the extra 5k if I call and add a user after receiving the card?

my understanding is that as long as you add an AU and use that card within 90 days, you get the points.

My UA card is still active. Should I close it first? How long should I wait to apply for a 2nd one? Thanks!

I added an AU about a week after applying, received the card, made a purchase, and my statement closed yesterday showing 55,000 miles earned.

Can anyone still get this to work? I followed the instructions and see activity on the Mileage Plus and when I keep trying that link, it keeps redirecting to the 30K miles. This is a new mileage account fyi. Also transferred 1000 points from Chase Ultimate Rewards. Any tips appreciated. Thanks.

See "Post hoc ergo propter hoc", because you received 5K miles after having used the card does not mean you had to use the card to get the 5K miles.

Cleared everything off IE. No Luck. Tried manually pasting the 50K link after logging in and no luck. Tried Chrome and no luck. Tried Firefox removing cookies and no luck. Not sure what to do.

Yea - it's dead. I just tried it now and didn't work.

I hope it comes back later. I was denied saying I had too many inquiries with them. I recently signed up for a Ink Plus. Didn't know if it was approved or denied until today. I got the card. I could really use those United miles this year. Oh well. Lucky to those who got the offer.

#edit: in reply to Cheeseman's comments above.

Well I just received an secure text from Chase says since I had a MileagePlus card before and received the bonus before (in 2012) i won't be able to receive the
bonus this time around.

I certainly hope you guys could finally get the bonus which means I stand a little chance as well.

I called Recon line as well and been told the same thing. And they emphasized that one signup bonus for a lifetime which I don't really believe...

OK. I still see the 50K offer, but I don't see it in the account I set up for my fiance. Can I use the link in my account to sign her up for the CC? It doesn't matter which account the miles go to. I just want to make sure that they won't have a problem with the CC app being under a different name than my account.

Well, that sucks... How far did you get in the process? If you got the card, did you spend the $1000, then see the bonus didn't come in? How about the $50 statement credit?

Hey, just wanted to clarify my question. I do not have a card, but I do not want to apply, since I applied for a Chase card within the past 4 or so months. Can I enter her information into the 50K offer I see in my account (so that I get the miles, she gets the card).

rated:
Does anyone have experience with using the United Club passes included in this card over the lounge access that comes from Chase Ink Lounge Club. I am seeing the locations are different, which means you need to choose the right lounge access.
