FWIW, someone on FT's Credit Card forum has one. It's not as compatible with Discover as you'd think. Doesn't work on Paypal, and causes trouble with other online transactions too.

Since this is a different card type, could it potentially increase my credit score as one of the credit factor I think is being given credit in more credit types?

The different credit types they are talking about are revolving (cc and loc), installment loans (car, student, personal), and mortgages. This is nothing more than another revolving cc account.
