Have you recently sold or transferred point to someone or another program to sell them? I just got that email and just transferred a load of bonus points on 2 accounts. Was wondering if it was connected.

I have the one with a 125 fee, the reason this disclosure got my attention is I never had to pay an annual fee to join the mr program and now it seems I have to.
I think the change here is for corporate cards (i.e paid directly by employer). People with corporate green cards have long had to pay a fee, I think they're extending that to corporate gold cards as well.
Not sure why imbatman was given red for this - it is the most informative post in the thread. I just got off the phone with AMEX and he is exactly right, that the Gold Rewards Card does not have the additional fee. He is also right in that most people have this one - as it is most often the one advertised for the good signup bonuses.
There isn't a great way to distinguish which one you have (the logos might be different, but this can't be confirmed for all cards). The best way is either to call or look at your statement. If it is the Gold Rewards card it will say so at the top.

It seems, BenH, you've missed the threads that have alluded to Swintec's deep-seated vengeful hatred towards imbatman. He reds everything that imbatman posts.
There are some rumors that it started over a fight for a woman, others that imbatman robbed Swintec's golden-laden train in the 1800's.. But I think these are silly and unrealistic. What do I think?
