Does anyone have comments on this service? Obviously it's a vehicle for them to push AMEX products, but is there anything worthwhile that she might get out of it? Any pro/con opinions are appreciated.

They usually run a promo where they give you $50 if you attend this free initial consultation. There's nothing to gain (apart from the $50), they just tell you what services they offer and push you to sign for some.

i have my initial consultation tomm... lets see what they have for me
I was a client of AMEX Financial Advisors in 2001. They claimed that their product would save money on taxes, but it smelled like the typical "whole life" insurance ripoff. Fortunately, I quit before the sale was final, so I got all of my money back (although I did have to send an email to AmexFA's head honcho). Some other clients are suing AmexFA.

AMEX is annoying, they mail too many solicitations from airplane insurance to credit protections to accident insurance to financial services. Today, I signed up for their airplane insurance up to 1 MIL, never can be too sure this day and age, though the fine print will probably exclude terrorist acts. Anyway free travel alarm clock and no sign up fees until you purchase an airline ticket.
