This wasn't ideal, but I figured I could always reallocate from my original $16k PP card, right? Wrong! After two attempts, two weeks, and no change in my credit limits, I finally got ahold of a Citi rep who explained why the reallocations had been failing. She said Citi does not allow reallocation to a card that has a 0% offer. Bummer!
My next step will be to attempt to reallocate from personal to business...
Regardless of 0% offer, you can't move CL from Citi PremierPass to the other card because PremierPass is considered as flexible spending charge card, not credit card.

I've hit the same problems reallocating with Citi, both personal and biz 0% cards. I'm going to keep trying since the clock on the 0% offer doesn't start until I request the first check.
Does anyone have a credit line of more than 100k on an AMEX personal card? My combined credit line among the two cards I have with them is around 124k, over the past few weeks I have been trying to reallocate from the lower card, trying to put my main card over 100k, every time I have tried this I get a system is busy/technical difficulties problem. However today I was logged into my wifes account, and was able to reallocate credit on her cards, so I logged into my account and tried to move my card from 91k to 110k and was again given the system busy error, however I immediately tried again by attempting 99.9k and it went right through. Any thoughts?
Well she lied or was mistaken, as I transferred ~50k in credit lines to 0% cards last month. Not consolidated, all accounts are still open.
Anyway, the true problem is that the PP is a signature card. Your credit limit is not your true credit limit. If you were to call and ask them to convert the PP to a 'normal' card like the Diamond Preferred you'd likely be able to get the line transferred.
Hmm, you guys may be right about the PP card. However, I can't even reallocate from my Home Rebates card to my Driver's Edge card (or vice versa). So something else is definitely going on.
Assuming the rep did not lie and was not mistaken, there could be a third possibility here. Perhaps this restriction only applies to certain types of accounts or customers. Maybe I've been flagged by some past behavior? I have no idea, but would like to figure this out.
I was able to reallocate 15k from a Citi Dividend to a Citi Professional card (w/a 12 month 0% BT deal) without incident. The available credit on the Professional card is now 28k. The entire call lasted 30 seconds and the CSR only required that I leave 1k on the Dividend card. Thanks.
Data points for thread (i need to give something back to the FWF community)
I recently did a mostly business AOR
DISCO - No problem moving open portion of CL from DISCO personal (2 purchases per month for 0% for life) to Disco Business 0% for 18 months
HSBC (yea i know its not biz) combined two CL but i had to sign paperwork and mail in - took forever and i have bought homes easier than this. Ancient.
Chase/ GMchase/ SONY - moved CLs with eases
BOA - i could literally pick a CL out of the air on each card
Citi - moved all of CITIprofessional CL to PPBiz
- as of now will NOT let me move DIV SELECT or Diamond preferred to PP Elite - i am saving this for 12 months from now
CAPONE Biz - waiting to receive card as I have 40K on personal - no rush as 0% offers on both have 3% no cap fees which i will not pay.
I want to close some cards so i can have something to apply for next year and no need for 6 CITI cards as the awesome credit protector deal is dead.
Still have non debt usage at Penfed, WAMU, AMEX for low utility
I just want to open cards and consolidate them into my older cards, either without activating the new cards or activating them long enough to consolidate them fully into the old cards. I want to do this to increase the limits on my personal cards to make my report look better, without shortening my average credit age (which is quite small.) (I don't care about using the new cards for their offers, I prefer to use business credit so my report looks perfect.)
Will I have to activate the new cards to consolidate them unto the old?
If I have to activate them to do so and I immediately close them, will that lower my credit age? Could I maybe dispute the new accounts off my report since they are only open ten minutes?

Why not just ask for CLIs? Offer to provide docs, if necessary.
AFAIK, as soon as you are approved for a card, the creditor will report it, and the new account/history/average age damage is done. Activating a card has nothing to do with whether it will be reported. I guess you could try to dispute it off your report, but on what grounds?

Thanks, I appreciate the info. CLIs sounds best than. Business to personal reallocations too. I thought consolidations might get my limits up faster and higher than CLIs, I don't want to take the age hit though. I don't have any great income I can prove, but after my next AOR I may send in docs showing investments from BTs to see if that helps.

The online system does not allow greater than 100k, but if you call and get a manager to override the system it can be done. I had $135k on a Delta business card at one time.
I just got my new Citibank card with 0% balance transfer for one year. I called in to move an existing credit line from my old card to the new one and 2 different reps told me that their system has been locked and they are not allowed to move credit lines to a 0% card or to even consolidate cards if one has a 0% balance. I even spoke with a supervisor and he told me the same thing. How is possible that some members here have been able to do it anyway? Am I missing something? Thanks.
I have the BoA AM3X Accolades and wondered if if you could move lines between that and another BoA card. Found out you can, I just moved $125k from my FIA/BoA card to my Accolades giving me a CL of $175k on the Accolades. Seems odd moving from Visa to Am3X

you gonna put a yacht on your Accolades? No, Lousy rewards on that card and don't even use, I have no idea why I am doing this, Just a quest to see how large of a line I can get to. Next up wait a couple weeks and go for a CL increase on the FIA card and then move it to the Accolades
It may seem odd (as some CSR discourage it by saying it's not allowed), but that's what I've routinely been doing. I'd reallocate some BOA AM3X CL to their WP VISA, then they would increase CL on AM3X, then I'd reallocate again. I'm in the 3rd cycle of doing so and it has not been a year since I got both cards ($38K CL on VISA and $15K CL on AM3X at the moment).
Congrats on the MEGA CL ... looks like devildoc will have some catching up to do .
Well, just got shot down trying to close a Citi AA Business card and move the CL to my CitiBusiness card. She said it's never been possible to move between business cards, even though I did it right when I got the AA card. Guess I'll call back. On another note, I just noticed that I can't move from PP to another card. Bad call on my part since I put all of my CLs on my PP for a 0% offer, then planned to move the the Business for another. Guess I'll lose my CLs when I close the PP rather than have to eat the yearly fees.

Then you can consolidate the new card (and full credit line) into you business card.

Can I get an AMEN?!! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
I've got two cards with them the first was issued with a 10.5 CL and the second with $21K. That's not bad for AOR. Of course it would be better if I could combine. I am still looking into it because there are reports that some have pulled it off.

I called 3 times before someone told me that maybe a US representative could combine credit lines and "put me back in the queue for US" I learned from the US rep that reallocation cannot be done and that consolidation can only be done if the lines are "compatible." Determining compatability takes 7-10 days after which the lines will be combined if compatible or remain untouched if incompatible. The rep also said that all the "outside" call centers should have a speed-dial for someone whocould assist with this service. It was not problem to initiate the inquiry once I got the right person.
Ok. I consildated a chase personal line (5k) into a new business line which appeared today. Then I noticed that while my credit line had been bumped to accomodate the 5k my available credit had not. Is this common for consolidated accounts through Chase?
I just tried consolidating my Discover Business card and personal card. The rep would allow me to do it but said there was a $20k limit on transfers. I was already at $18k credit limit so I didn't consolidate.
Now that I think of it maybe the $20k limit is per transfer and not per card, similar to Bank Atlantic. I'll have to call back later and see if I can move my personal account over and make another transfer off my Business card.

I was also told that they normally do not allow CLs over 20K but they moved part of a line from personal to business resulting in 23.5K on the business card. They would not let me move more from another discover card afterwords because they said I was above the $20K CL limit.
Citi - Personal to personal Reallocations to 0% cards will be denied by normal CSR. Call the activation department to get reallocation with no hassles.
Was able to move limit from my FIA / BOFA Charles Schwab card to my BOA NEA Card. You have to call the Charles Schwab number, the main BoA Line cannot do this.

No go for me. Was told that I had to call customer service and they said no. I tried several different reps.

Citi Biz AA -> Citi Biz (Plat Select) and Citi Biz PP -> Citi Biz (Plat Select) took 48 hours. The minimum to keep each card open was 1K. Strange, I thought AA was a NPSL card, but I guess not the biz version (and neither is it a World MC, as those have 5K min CL, IIRC).
CitiBiz w/Thank You Network to CitiBiz PP (with 12m no-fee 0% BT offer valid) confirmed, first try. They made me leave $1k, as well. Also, Citi Diamond Preferred (personal) to same CitiBiz PP card confirmed, second try.
I need help moving the Cl from my dividend AMEX card (citi) to my citi business card. They won't do reallocation from AMEX cards and I am having trouble converting to a mastercard or other citi card to reallocate from. Any ideas?

You should be able to convert - you need to talk to a different CSR. For a data point, I was able to convert a Diamond Rewards AMEX to a Dividend MC and then reallocated from the MC.
I am unable to move my credit lines on citi Business. Any insights. I am calling regular customer service. They say it will be processed in 2 days but i dont see it happening. Retention refuses to merge or relocate outright.

Have you tried reallocating to a new citi business card?
