Does anyone know if PNC Bank pulls a hard or soft inquiry for opening an account?

Time Warner Cable did a hard pull, which I think is ridiculous.

FYI, I just signed up for (and called to verify) that Countrywide online MM account no longer does a hard pull and also that GMAC online savings no longer does a hard pull either.

not really, there's a lot of dead beat cable customers out there and you are entering into a 1 year contract or whatever. dishnet does the same thing (i have dish)

If that was the case then I'd be more understanding, but there are no contracts with Time Warner Cable. It is month-to-month.

Comerica Bank pulled a hard inquiry on transunion for opening a business checking even when I used a Tax Id number and didn't request credit. Has anyone ever had any success in disputing these inquiries?
