Where do you see 2.2%? Both their main website and the promotion list 2.15%.

Vegas? Well, what do YOU want to do with it? If you can afford to lose some of it, invest in stocks and mutual funds. If you don't need the money any time soon, put it into CDs or bonds (depending on your tax situation). If you are likely to need the money soon, Superior Savings' 3% may beat breaking a CD early. Just put the money into ING Direct or Virtual Bank until January 2, when Superior Savings will announce their rates for the next six months. |

Does MetLife also do a hard pull if you sign up for the High-Yield Savings?
Anyone know if GMAC does a hard pull when you sign up for Money Market?

Signed up by phone using the CPD19 code on Friday, 12-17-04. The CSR said 5k was the amount to qualify for the $50 bonus as stated in the USA TODAY ad. No URL found for that deal though. Was told to expect a welcome package from Metlife Bank in 5~7 business days and would have to send back the check to fund the account afterwards.
As Valentino stated, offer expires 1/31/05. Because of the lower minimal balance, the CPD19 offer appears to be better, to me at least. |

called them to verify the details of the CPD19 code: CSR said limit is one bonus per customer, no limit per household. applied on-line for myself, my wife will apply too.
Edit: Just tried to open another acct on-line for my wife and got this message: We could not process your request. Thank you for applying for a new account with MetLife Bank. To complete your application, please contact our Call Center toll-free at 1-866-BankMet (1-866-226-5638). Important! You will need to reference Message XYZ and Application ID 12345678. I think, I am not going to bother calling them.

Has anyone successfully applied online with the new CPD19 code yet? I'm about to fund my initial deposit and just want to make sure $5k is enough for the $50 bonus ($5k to open, $5 to maintain for 90 days).
Thanks |

I just received my $50 bonus from MetLifeBank, almost exactly 90 days after the deposit posted. Interest also posts regularly on the month anniversary of your funding date, instead of the end of the month. I wish this bank was listed in Yodlee, but oh well.
Also, I saw in today's paper another ad, with a $5,000 min opening (vs. $10,000 I've seen):
Call 1-800-869-3813. Mention code CPD28. (edit: expires 3/15/05)
Now to decide if it's worth keeping...

The ads are back in last week's USA Today. Get a $50 bonus Call 1-800-869-7042 and mention code CPD45. The online application does have a spot for a promo code, so maybe you can do it online too.
You must deposit at least $5000 of new funds in your MetLife money market account by 04/15/05 and maintain a minimum balance of $5000 for 90 days. The bonus will be credited to your account approximately 90 days after your account is funded and will be reported to the IRS as interest. One bonus per customer.
2.50% APY if your balance is $5,000 or more 1.00% APY for lower balances $0 to open, but $1500 to avoid monthly fees, and $5000 to get the bonus. See account details in first post.
