you should only see the ads only if you are not logged in

This will not work for sure. Google search shows this phone alone is not just one promotion-related.

Just read this whole long thread. I still have a few questions though. Do you guys mean 10% INSTANT rebate on gas and other certain purchase? If so, it will be an awesome card for gas and groceries shopping before 06/05 then. INSTANT rebate (credit on following month's statement) is the key here cuz I certain won't like to use it again after 06/05. Anybody succeed on that yet?

This is long thread? Check out "freevideogames" thread in deal discussions, or "charter one giftcard" in finance This is a short thread, and no we dont know if we succeeded, we have two different codes to try and one phone to call, and you need to ask CSR many times to make sure that the promo he found is the one you want. We wont know for sure untill we receive the first statement from the month of usage of the cards. We might know sooner if the brochure will state rewards, but thats not a given.

Foto, thanks for sharing your experience. It will certainly benefit others who are thinking of applying.

OT but why are you interested in Investment Rewards? Is it to get extra mileage out of a dormant AAA card (i.e. convert to Investment Rewards card)? Or is there something special about this reward site? Just interested in your opinion.

AAA card is useless, since Discover & Citi give 5% on gas and don't require to pay at the pump(important in NJ, where there are no self service gas stations by law).
Investment rewards card gives 5% cash back on Gap.com, Amazon.comm, BN.com, Macys gift certificates, which I thought is not bad... but I've changed my mind and think it's too much work and savings will be small, since I don't buy from these stores often.

Btw after reading the website, I am not even sure if this is credit card or just a cash back website (like FatCash section of FW)... the application seems to be too short and does not ask about income, rent/mortgage payment etc...

I enrolled in Investment Rewards (free) to see what it is all about. I'd be leery of this site. For one thing, it is a cash back site, no different than FatCash, netflip, Ebates and others. I don't think their reward %s are necessarily higher. Only a bit more invasive about your financial records like SSN (optional although they state it will expedite your rewards payment). They offer to link payments to your bank accounts. Very bad, reminds me of Trilegiant companies. Or they are fishing for prospective customers to sell financial products. I'm surprised MBNA would associate themselves with this program.

Just applied. The CSR did ask the 11-digits code, but just told him/her that you got the info from web and you have the promotion code (HGW4) and it should be OK.
Thanks OP!

I applied last night. The first rep said it was targeted and I couldn't get it. So I called back 3 minutes later and the second rep said sure no problem. She hadn't heard of the card (while the first one had) but I gave her the code and she found it. I told her I was concerned that I would get rejected since I had another MBNA card with $25K limit (no balance). She said no problem, they would take $10K off that one and put it onto the new card. I asked her when I would know if I was approved and she said that since I was just moving my credit limit, it was a done deal and I should get my card in 1-2 weeks. Hope this works out.

I also got 0% through 6/05 with a $75 BT fee. I'm thinking this may be better than the 10% cash back (Can pay off my 4% Heloc). I may have my wife apply for one too.

My card is in the mail. Thanks OP.

Best wishes.

There are other 0% no fee BT offers. I posted a Chase offer here.

Thanks tooshy. I've got $15K on Chase Platinum, $8K on Chase Freedom, $35K on Bank One, and am hoping to put $25K on this MBNA (all 0%) The thing that is killing me is that I am in the promo period of my HELOC and am getting 2%. I just put 70K of my HELOC into Ford Financial at 2.4%. Not much profit, but a little.

Wow, sounds like you have quite a lot of 0%'s from various credit card companies, but no Citi? I posted in the same 0% BT thread - another recent 0% NO FEE promo from Citi. Just thought it is a shame to pay fees when there are still some no fee offers around....but you have your reasons to go with MBNA and perhaps even a $75 fee is cheap if you are moving large sums.

I've had 0% from Citi, but they've expired. I've tried applying for new cards with 0% but have been rejected. I think it is because of large balances and too much available credit with Citi. Any suggestions? Should I close my Citi accounts that I'm not using, or try to transfer those limits to a new card?

One consequence of taking up so many 0% offers is that your debt-to-income ratio becomes very high. Citi is especially cautious and strict about this criteria when granting credit. Like everything else, be moderate and balanced on the 0% offers. Just a friendly suggestion.

Best wishes.

Another consequence is that some banks may want to close your cards.
I have 25K balance with MBNA and bank one send me a letter saying that my card is closed due to high balances on other cards. I've called them and they reopened it with the lower credit limit.

Were the rejected applications with Citi? If not, then it may be worth your while to apply for a Citi 0% because you have "too much avaiable credit with Citi." Apply by phone where they may ask you to close or transfer credit lines to your new card if approved. If you close your Citi cards first, you would have no lines to transfer and your chances of getting the 0% offer is slimmer IMO. But I agree, it is tough to apply for more credit when you already have high utlization and there could be a downside risk that they will ask to reduce your credit limit or close your accounts.

I am thinking of applying for another AT&T, if they do offer 5% on every purchase til 2005. If approved, I may have to transfer lines too, but having unused credit to do so helps the approval process is the way I see it.

With the MBNA card, I plan to buy GCs up to $250/month at Safeway on the last day of statement cycle less any restaurant charges during the month and use Citi/AT&T 5% for the rest of our grocery & Drugstore purchases. Really makes AMEX/Fleet/and even Discover (although I'll still use this for gas) third tier now. However, there is still need for these cards too.

I applied for the Citi Platinum today. The rep said there was nothing she could do about transferring credit limits to a new card. I probably should have called back and spoke to someone else. I generally find if you want a different answer all you have to do is call back. Anyway, I'm hoping to get the card with at least a small credit limit and then transfer some of my available limit to the new card. She said it could take 3 to 4 weeks to get the card. We'll see.

Just applied and was approved for the card over the phone. They couldn't offer me any more credit, but was able to transfer some from one of my other card with MBNA. Thanks, yangocc.
