Thanks. I plan to do that with ETrade.
markber said:sanxxx said:Another question. Is the transfer from ING to any of these banks constitutes direct deposit for the purpose of getting the Direct deposit bonus. or it has to be a salary deposit.
It may depend on a bank. I was able to get a direct deposit bonus using an ACH transfer (via Cashedge/Yahoo Fund transfer) instead of salary deposit in all cases I tried (E*Trade, Bank of America, Charter One). |

OmniAmerican Federal Credit Union $100 bonus (local to Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area only) Link
Simply open an Omni Free Checking Account or an Omni Growth Packaged Checking & Savings Account, add direct deposit to that account, and you'll receive $100. That's right... $100! Plus, with Omni Free Checking, there are no monthly service charges or minimum opening balance requirements and you'll get free Omni Home Banking, a free VISA® check card, overdraft protection and much more.
Here are the details (just opened mine a couple weeks ago): Since this is a credit union, you must open a savings and checking account. You get $25 instantly in your savings upon opening the account. You need to have $250 in your savings to avoid monthly fees. So, I deposited $225 to open the account (plus the $25 they gave me makes $250 to avoid fees)
You get $75 in your checking account 2 days after your first direct deposit. This was so easy. I just linked my Paypal account and Paypal deposited $0.21 total to verify account. Omni considered this a DD, so I got $75 2 days later for free. There are no monthly fees for the checking and no minimum balance, so I withdrew my $75.21 immediately.
Now, I have to keep my account open for 6 months to avoid an account closing fee. No problem. I'm just not going to use it until I withdraw my $225 + interest.
Do the math, and this is a great deal. I am only out $150 for 6 months ($225 deposited initially less $75 withdrawn about 1 week later). I'll cancel this account in 6 months and put my $250 back in my fat wallet |

Sorry for confusion. US Bank bonus can be obtained through MoneyBB. Since I get traffic to iBankDesign from my similar Active Bonuses post on MoneyBB and moderate its Online Bank board, one can argue that I benefit indirectly from posting info about US Bank program here. I do not want to spend my time arguing about this issue so I deleted this program. It is just a $8 bonus and is not as important as having links to the rest of bonuses. I did correct the text of my Update #2 to make it clear what US Bank bonus program is.

It is on my "to do list". The problem is that it is quite a long list. I did clean up the "external post" a little bit last night. There are not too many new deals though. The best one may be the following.
" $100 from SalemFive for direct deposit.

Suggest you try other banks. Just close my accounts in Netbank. Their customer serivice is EX bad.
Few examples: It took them two months to send me the welcome package. During that period of time, I found no way to fund the accounts (I tried sending them Bank Mails but no one responded and their online funding system did not work as well) and they kept charging me the service fee because my balance was 0.
They promised to give out $15 for signing up their Bill Pay but the money never appeared. During these two months, I contacted them many times about this matter. The first time the lady told me I would get a response in two weeks. And sure I never got any response so I kept contact them. The answers were always the same "my claim was right now in the Marketing Dept." Hey!! This is a simple claim, how come it took them two months and went nowhere!
I read some stories saying that their deposit checks were lost when sending to Netbank. I am glad that this never happened to me. |

Thanks, expert5186! It is a great deal for people who lives in Citizens's bank service areas. I wonder if they open accounts for consumers in other states. |
