tashayar said:Are there negative ramifications for opening multiple accounts to take advantage of these offers? I did search the FAQ and the boards and apparently, it shouldn't affect FICO. Of course I would only be interested in the ones which give me the most bang for my $ with the least amount of effort.

I am considering currently...

PNC $101
BoA $50
Chase $100
CitiGold $200

I already have ING and Citibank. Chase is local and easy enough to do. BoA is fine for the short term and they are in NY now. CitiGold would be pretty easy to do as they did invite me after all.

Any thoughts?

thanks!

I think you're overanalyzing it - they're just checking accounts. Just do it. Assume you saw this thread.

I thought that I saw once that Chase had offered a checking account with bonus. Did a search but couldn't find it. Does anyone know of or had a chase checking account? Thanks!

I have not seen Chase promos for a checking account recently.

On the previous page there are Chase promos, however they seem to be targeted mailings.

The Citibank $200 renewed offer: expiring 2/28/05
linky
This one gives $100 90 days from 1st 2 bill pays and another $100 after 12 mo of bill-pays. Takes too long.

Expires 2/28/05
Offercode: CEU6
Fund with $1500 by 2/28/05

Seems like the $200 offer in my prev post is better

The offer I saw was in a Val-pak that came in the mail. Sorry don't have it handy to give you the details but it did say bring it to the bank in person to open the account.

yep. That IS what I meant, which is why I thought the other one was better. Both take "forever".
Thanks

There appears to be $50 available for joining Patelco.

Link

The notice says it's a free membership, but the application says there's a $20 fee... Still a moneymaker, but not as much.

However, when I go through the application process, that mention disappears. We'll see...

Meadows Credit Union offering $125 for opening echecking with direct deposit and making two bill payments (free billpay service). Membership open to all. I couldn't find this offer on their website, but I just opened a savings acct, and the e-mail from the acct rep told me about the deal.

If you open echecking and establish direct deposit, and make 2 bill payments, they will credit you $25/month for 5 months.

The list was updated on 02/05/2005. Thanks to everybody who posted new deals here. I tried to include all online and some offline bonuses in the list.

Meadows sounds good. But sounds like you need to open a savings account and then wait for the welcome offer.

I can't just blindly open an account and trust that a reward will happen... can I?

You can call Meadows CU, ask them about this promotion and, if it is valid, just open a checking account over the phone. Its customer service people are friendly.. at least, they used to be friendly last time I had to contact them.
