According to SD post 6875331, BofA currently has two codes for $100 bonus for business checking accounts: C100BUS for California residents and M100BUS for residents of other states.

Link to the C100BUS offer

There is no link known for M100BUS code.... at least, I do not know.

Below is a repost of SD post 6875331:

"""

just talked to a live business agent on bankofamerica.com...

here is what happened:

Natasha: All of our accounts have minimum balances, however there are other options to avoid the fee.
Natasha: When you have a personal checking account, your Business Economy Checking account features no monthly maintenance fee for 2 years!
you: I also have a personal checking and savings
Natasha: Or, if you have a personal Advantage checking(interest checking), then the account is free as long as you keep the personal open!
you: gotcha...
you: so, if I open the economy online, will it automatically waive the fees?
Natasha: Yes, it will.
you: or do I have to go to the branch and make sure that it is indeed setyup that way
Natasha: Also today we are offering a $100 bonus.
you: great...
Natasha: The offer code is M100BUS.
you: one more question...
you: is that only today?
you: and that code is good for any small business account?
Natasha: Yes, it is good for any account.
you: because I was going to ask you abouit C100BUS which I just found
you: and when does that code M100BUS expire?
Natasha: C100BUS is only for California accounts.
Natasha: M100BUS is for all others and it expires at will.
Natasha: Meaning any day.
you: ha, thanks for the tip.....
you: I really appreciate it...

SO, THE OFFER CODE FOR NON-CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS IS M100BUS!!!!!!
unfortunately, we don't know when it expires...

"""

Update on 6/16/07. Thanks to hard work of IBD member ichaelm, it has become possible to group local bank bonuses by state (see below). Since the process of state assignment has not been well tested, I have also included a non-grouped list of local bank bonuses in the Quick Summary. The bonuses were reviewed during a relatively long period (end of May - beginning of June). There is a non-zero chance that you can run into an expired bonus. So... please pay attention before you apply.

I added a new bonus category, "prefessional bonuses", for military accounts, student accounts, etc. Bonuses sorted by expiration date and bank name were removed, at least, for now.

How about UFB? Do they do a hard pull for either account?

Mercantile Bank has a $101 bonus for a new checking account if you set up DD. I saw the offer in City Paper (Baltimore, MD) and went to the bank for info. I opened the checking account with $50 (min) and was told I should have my $101 in 30 days.

Got free starter checks and ATM Card.

Easy money.

I think M&T has a Similar offer (Again, Baltimore, MD) where you open a checking and get $50 and a free air compressor for your car. I'll check this one out later.

I was about to go for this, but when I called HSBC, they said that this is a targeted offer. The CSR said that not all union members would get this and that you would have to receive an email. It seems a little shaky. Unless someone knows something different, I'm gonna hold off on this. Thanks anyway for the heads up.

The $75 offer (when I successfully log on to chase to access my accounts) requires you to print out a coupon to be TAKEN to a B&M.

Thanks for this, markber. I e-mailed Key Bank to ask about "automated payments," and this is what they said:

Please be advised that automated payments are direct withdrawals
performed on your account using your account and routing number. Debit
card, ATM/POS purchases and payments using the Bill Pay Service are
excluded from automatic payments and will not qualify you for a free
iPod Nano.

So that means that you can link the Key Bank account to a credit card and pay the credit card bill twice, and that would qualify. Pulling money from HSBC or Citibank, etc. should work too, based on that description.

Open a Citibank checking account (EZ checking does not qualify) with a minimum of $100
First $100 earned after 3 months of direct deposit OR using online bill pay for 2 bills per month
Second $100 earned after 3 more months of direct deposit OR bill pay
Bonuses will be credited to account within 120 days of meeting qualifications
Must be a new Citibank customer with no previous Citibank checking or savings account
Expires February 29, 2008
Can be opened by phone (1-866-810-9043) or at a Citibank Financial Center (be sure to reference promo code MVS4)
The monthly fee for the Citibank checking will be waived as part of this promotion as long as direct deposit or bill pay usage is maintained.
Without direct deposit or bill pay usage, the following fees will be charged: $12.50/mo fee, $0.50/check and $1.50 for non-Citibank ATM withdrawals (fees can also be waived with a $6K balance)

Some important notes regarding Citibank checking accounts:

Hard credit pull is done in the application (can temporarily ding your credit score)
Restrictive online funds transfer service in which outgoing external transfers are limited to a daily limit of $2,000 (was $5K) and a monthly limit of $10,000 (see Citi webpage)

Has anyone tried the citibank $200 promotion?

$200? I got $100...

The lists with bonuses were updated on 12/05/07

watssion said: Has anyone tried the citibank $200 promotion?
I just did this over the phone today. See Markber's post here for details. The personal banker I talked with was both very pleasant and knowledgeable. He told me that due to a Citibank policy change a few months ago, they now just use ChexSystems when opening up a checking account -- perhaps for other deposit accounts as well, but I'd want to confirm that. The only exception is if you get overdraft protection, then you'd get a hard credit inquiry, because that involves a line of credit.

Also, after opening up the account with $100 (which can be funded over the phone by e-check or by bringing the funds to a branch -- you've a certain number of days to do this after applying for the account), there is no minimum, as long as you meet the requirement for either a monthly direct deposit or using on-line bill pay for 2 bills per month.

Although they'll send you a welcome packet with a signature card, you can go to your local branch and fill out the signature card there, as well as provide additional information that's required. Your funding check will clear 5 - 7 days after Citibank receives the signature card. Regarding on-line bill pay, the amount is debited from your checking account the day the bill is paid, whether the payment is done electronically or by check (i.e. if the payee isn't on their list of on-line bill system payees). So that's a slight disadvantage with an on-line bill payment check compared with a check you've written yourself.

For those who have never had a savings or checking account with Citibank, this seems like a great deal. (This offer is only good for people new to Citibank with respect to savings and checking accounts.) My spouse will open an account at our local branch next week.

Edited to state that the offer applies only to people who never have had a savings or checking accout with Citibank, as opposed to someone who currently has no accounts with them. Also, a CSR told me that you can verify that you've had no past savings or checkings accounts with Citibank by contacting the account opening folks, at 1-800-745-1534, M-F, 8am - 7pm Central Time. Use option 1 to transfer to the account opening department.

Citibank's $200 promotion is for new (never been) customers only...they are VERY STRICT about this!!!!

Yes, they will open your new checking account but they won't give you the $200 bonus if you have ever had a banking account with them!

That is probably true nowadays. I had to fight for my last easy checking/savings combo, despite the fact that my previous Citi deposit accounts were closed over a year prior to opening and I disclosed that when applying and verified that I would indeed get the bonus. Luckily, the CCS seem to give intro rates & any sign-on bonuses whether or not you had other cards with them before.

I opened a new checking account with Citibank in Sept with this $200 bonus deal (maintain $100 in the account plus 3 months of at least 2 bill pays to earn first $100, and then after another 3 months of 2 bill pays I would get another $100).
I use my 2 Citibank credit cards for my bill pays. Had to be careful to pay the credit cards through the "billpay" link and not the "transfer" link (it doesn't count because they consider it movement between my different citibank accounts), but just got my first $100 deposited into the account without any hassle.

Thanks for pointing this out. Although it's already stated in marber's post that I referenced, I changed my original post to state that the offer is good only for people who have never had a savings or checking account with Citibank.

I also added a contact number for the account opening department that will let you verify whether or not you've had a previous checking or savings account with Citibank: 1-800-745-1534, M-F, 8am - 7pm Central Time. Use option 1 to transfer to the account opening department.
