Yeah, except that those offers are for different accounts.

The 2.15% APY is for "High Yield Money Market Savings"

Unfortunately, the Mileage Earning Opportunities are only for the "Mileage Savings and Checkings Accounts", which have pitiful APY's. The savings account only earns 0.75% APY, even when you carry a $10,000 balance. Yuk.

The miles accounts may not be bad to open just for the miles, but not worth keeping on as your primary accounts.

To get free billpay, you need to maintain a min balance of $1500. Otherwise, billpay costs $6 / month.

If I'm reading it correctly, this page shows that you can potentially earn the 5000 mile bonus for direct deposit TWICE??? Once for the savings account, and another for the checking? The 5000 bonus for billpay is obvoiusly only for checking.

http://www.ufbdirect.com/ufbdirect/disclosure.asp#mileageSavings

So...
1000 = open checking with $200
1000 = open savings with $200
5000 = billpay checking
5000 = direct deposit checking
5000 = direct deposit savings
================
17,000 total miles earned, after a year for opening two accounts with DD, using billpay, and keeping min balance of $1,500. Of course, the interest rate is crap...

Anything that I'm missing?

See this page

Bill pay is "Free with $1500 checking balance or direct deposit". Better to call them to make sure before you open bill pay with them. This statement appears in other UFB websites, so I suppose it works with direct deposit.

And you get 5000 miles every year for billpay

Are you sure? The text says "5,000 AAdvantageŽ Miles - Earned on 12 month anniversary of participating in Bill Pay service associated with your Mileage Checking Account"

Which I think means it's a one time event after your first 12th month anniversary. It doesn't say "earned on every X month anniversary"...

I think this program is pretty new, I looked at google's cache, it is not there as of Aug 14, 2004

I wonder if virtual bank monthly ach in counts as "direct deposit"?

It worked for the etrade bank direct deposit deal.

Just FYI,

The CSR on the phone told me that the Free Bill Pay needs $1500 in your account. Direct Deposit won't work
