I call to activate my account today and the offer is not available for my account. Nobody is able to tell me why. They asked for a printout regarding the 2,500 mile promotion and said they could give it to me then...does anyone have this promotion in writing? A scan of a letter maybe?
That's what one CSR told me last week, this week a different CSR said the 2,500 mile promotion for AU is a 'given', all we have to do is activate the card and make a purchase to see the miles. Takes 6-8 weeks for it to appear. Anyone see their bonus miles yet? |

I got 2500 miles for adding an authorized user (the miles appeared on first statement), and today the AU got a solicitation in the mail saying "Tired of being an AU? Get your own card." He's being offered 10,000 bonus miles, and a fee waiver for the first year. The offer I had originally signed up for was a mail solicitation for 15,000 bonus miles, fee waiver for 1 year, and 2500 for adding an authorized user. |

Explain this to me:
Say I have a relative named John Doe. I add him as a user to my credit card with a wrong birthday, no SSN, no address.
What are they going to match that name to? Are they going to link my credit card history with every single John Doe in the United States?
You say they don't need an SSN, but how do they link information that is in no way conclusive to limit it to one person? Pardon my ignorance, but I just can't grasp how it is feasibly or remotely possible.

I applied with the 15000 promotion. Add 5 AUs upon phone activation.

I did this once for a United card. The users I added didn't have SS numbers. I still keep getting credit card offers in their name at my address. |

I wish they would make it easier to reconcile points shown on the statement with the skymiles account online. Grrr...
