Thanks, I was approved!
Bump for Chase:
Chase automated system:800-945-2006 (gives status of both personal and business apps). If you applied for several apps, pressing * after hearing the approval details would get you to the next app. Woo-hoo! ![]()
Anyone has the number for GE Money Bank? Or would the customer service line off the website be the best option?

Connects to representitive to get status after automated ID validation, etc... I hung up before the CSR was connected after my learning experience with Chase. Just a heads up.
I just called Wachovia number in quick summary and it appears that it is just a regular customer service phone #. Among the automated options there was not one to tell you the status of recent cc application.

Are you doing an AOR without telling us the info? I'm mildly heartbroken.

Nope, how could I
?! My wife just applied for a Wachovia personal card intrigued by generous lines reported here. There are several considerations as to why:
1) she's expecting to make a fairly large purchase at CITI Bank in the next few days (to the tune of $25K+$1K). This will create a "natural" BT opportunity.
2) It's (believed to be) good to expand the list of issuers on one's credit report, and Wachovia is an independent issuer that neither my wife nor I have a card with.
3) I'm curious as hell to learn which report Wachovia will pull for a CC app (they pull TU for checking accounts where we live). I let the lady go first b/c my EX (in case Wachovia pulls EX) won't be able to hold the blow as well as my wife's.
4) If Wachovia pulls TU for my wife and gives a generous credit line, I'd think about applying for the business card ...

Ok, well that's acceptable. I applied for that Wachovia Biz card and they pulled EQ for me in DC. Good luck to your wife.
The M&T number currently in the thread is for personal cards only.
For M&T Elan Business cards: 800-364-9648 (Card Underwriting). Note this is not automated, you will get a live person up front. Also, they seem to need 10 days to get an app out of review status (I applied on a Monday, was advised on Friday to call back next Wednesday).
