Some people have suggested that it is only for "solicited" members. I dunno about that, if online registration doesnt work, USE the phone number that was posted below

Terms for Double Cash Back: * Enrollment required by 4/15/05. The offer is good for solicited Cardmembers only and any Additional Cards on that account. Qualifying charges include all eligible retail purchases posted between March 1-April 15, 2005. Charges at the following retail establishments are not eligible for the promotion: warehouse clubs, supermarkets, gas stations, and transportation. To earn your reward, you must charge purchases on an eligible, enrolled American Express® Card, and your account must be active and not in default at time of bonus fulfillment. The maximum cash reward is limited to $2,000 of eligible spend between March 1 and April 15, 2005. Please allow 12-14 weeks following 4/15/2005 for the statement credit to post to your account. my card wasn't eligible. I guess you have to be a solicited Cardmember as the above post says.
Thanks. I'm in. One question. It says it's good for virtually all retail purchases. Anyone have any idea from their past promotions what they mean by "retail"? I personally wouldn't think of bills, plane tickets, and stuff like that as being retail, but I wonder if they count?

I called an AMEX CSR about this one. They said that it is double your current tier, so if you are in the 1.5/3.0% tier you'll get 3.0/6.0%. Also, they verified it was good at Lowe's/HomeDepot (which was what interested me).
I see it says: The maximum cash reward is limited to $2,000 of eligible spend between March 1 and April 15, 2005. I take that to mean that you can earn double cash on a max of $2000 of spending - i.e., the max reward from the double cash is $120 (6% reward for $2000 in purchases at Lowe's, for instance). Everyone agree with that? The CSR claimed their offer didn't show the max, but they also seemed vaguely clueless.
What did your postcard say? My postcard seemed to be for double Cash Back on dining only, Mar 1 to Apr 15, no listed maximum, and not URL to sign up for or phone number to call. I assume that meant I was already auto signed up for that promotion, but that's different than the promo discussed in this thread. If you got the same card as me, perhaps you were authorized for 1 promo but not the other.

Me too. Thanks OP. Thank you for registering in this promotion from BlueCash® from American Express. Your enrollment is now complete. Remember, to earn double Cash Back, use your Blue Cash® Card from March 1 through April 15, 2005 at virtually all of your favorite stores.

Good Point. My postcard was for double points for all your everyday purchases at gas stations/ pharmacy/ stand alone supermarkets. They gave a number and url to sign up. I dont have it with me now, but will update this post later. Not to disappoint anyone- but my postcard fine print mentioned- "This offer is only for solicited members" The offer may be member specific.

Just wondering what everyone feels is the best value for reward points. I was thinking Dell $$$, but it seems the gift certs they give are pretty restrictive. Any opinions?

I got the postcard for my regular Blue for 2x points on everyday spending.
I was able to enroll my green CashBack card online though.
Too bad I havn't been using the darn thing because of the MBNA 10% and citi 5% were better so I'm sitting in the lowest tier.

Unfortunately, this Card is not eligible for this promotion. Please be sure you are using your American Express® Platinum Cash Rebate Card when enrolling in this promotion.
Thanks, I just registered too via web link and it worked!

You know, I have been reading the multitude of threads on the topic. Believe it or not, it gets confusing for someone who has never looked into this stuff before. I know see that I was confused by a few posts I read where I thought someone was doing this, actually they were new purchases not BT. Thanks for making a new guy feel really welcome. This was my first post here, I do not think I needed to be dealt with as harshly as you did. A simple statement that I had made an error would have been fine. I will try not to bother you so much in the future.
