waistcoat said:I have that account. NO ACH However, you can initial ACH transfer from other bank. Or open a free checking account at UFB. Do you mean "open a free checking account at UFB to get checks?" |

scanchain said: I suspect it is the second one (because it is on one of their wire-transfer form). I could have called them but I fired them an email instead to see how fast they would respond. This will determine how much of my savings gets transferred there. Received a reply after two business days. The answer, as ccrzhh already posted, is 083914265. The other routing number 274070484 is for wire transfer only; for everything else use 083914265.
FYI, 274070484 goes to UNION FED BANK OF INDIANAPOLIS and 083914265 goes to BLOOMFIELD STATE BANK. Is Bloomfield State Bank part of UFB?? |

Does any one know when they started 3.3% rate and for how long will it last? Since according to bankrate report posted some one earlier, this bank has liquidity problem, how safe is to bet that bank itself will last and you do not have to wait for FDIC to reimburse your deposits when and if the bank really has a run? |

It should be at least 4% by the end of the year Since according to bankrate report posted some one earlier, this bank has liquidity problem, how safe is to bet that bank itself will last and you do not have to wait for FDIC to reimburse your deposits when and if the bank really has a run? This is discussed in the housing bubble thread. How long is the usual FDIC reimbursement process?
They rate ING not much better - ***
generally satisfactory condition, characterized by lower than normal overall, sustainable profitability, a very high measure of asset quality, mid-range capitalization, and lower than normal liquidity. ... the company achieved below average return on equity. A below average differential between asset yield and funding expense; below normal levels of noninterest income; and strict expense control evidenced by well below standard overhead ratios have combined to impact operations for the period. |

They JUST went up to 3.30...they have a history of being competitive with ING's rates. |

I am looking to invest 40,000 and I know this isn't an investment account per say but this seems to be one of the safest and most reliable and best APY option for earning interest on my money. I figure I can bank about $100 a month in interest.
Good idea, or is there better accounts to be looking into for investments. |

Yes (rate, ATM card, checks) and no (ACH, bonus) I don't think you get checks with the HY MM savings. In any case, you can open free checking account and make online transfers. In fact, the "Order checks" link is working for the MM account but I did not want to Submit on the final page because I was not sure they wouldn't ask me to pay for that |

I am a little confused by the withdrawl limit? Can you make unlimited ATM/checking card withdrawls or is that part of the 4 total checks you can write in a month? |
