how are other UFB customers transfering funds? Free options: - wire transfer if you have it for free in your bank - ACH transfer from your bank (E*Trade in/out, UBoC out, BoA in, etc.) - Free UPS - Free prepaid USPS envelopes (I would not) |

I think it depends on your bank. I bill pay money from Huntington bank to UFB and it was there the next day. There don't appear to be any hold on the deposit either, unlike ING and ED.
I am still waiting for my checks from UFB so I can send ED a check to link my account. I already have 2 accounts at ED and don't want to open anymore in order to link accounts. It's a nuisance to deal with 2 statements each month from ED.
I really wish UFB has their own ACH. |

Yes, checking. I opened HYMM and checking at the same time. Not sure why anyone would not want to open a checking account. The problem with ING and ED is that you have to transfer money to a checking account and wait a couple of days before writing a check. ATM will only allow a small withdrawal. |

how are other UFB customers transfering funds? I successfully added UFB to my CapitalOne savings account. I will also be adding the ACH link from Vanguard. |

Now, I have opened this MM Saving account and Free checking account, but I find the Interest Rate is 2.955% for the Saving account. Why? |

Has anybody successfully made an ACH transfer UFD -> other bank initiated by the other bank? My attempt to make $1-2-10 transfers led to all transfer features locked in two banks Other bank -> UFD transfers were successful
UFD is calm:
Subject: ACH transfer from UFB to another bank Can I initiate in another bank an ACH transfer from UFB to that bank?
Subject: ACH ...There will not be a problem. Please be advised the routing number that is used for a wire transfer only is 274070484. The routing number that is used for everything other than a wire transfer is 083914265. If there is anything else we can do for you, please contact us... 1-888-580-0049 |

The difference is between APRate and APYield. Rate is strictly annual interest earned. Yield is what happens when the interest is left to compound. I just bought a CD for 4.94%APY that shows up on the bank report as 4.83%APR and I called to find out if I'd been mistaken in the original amount I discussed with a bank rep. It's just tricky math/advert. Chances are your 2.955% will compound to 3.25%. -Zer ccrzhh said:hupj168 said:Now, I have opened this MM Saving account and Free checking account, but I find the Interest Rate is 2.955% for the Saving account. In E*Trade, I see all external links locked now In BoA, I get an error message if I choose "make a transfer outside the bank": We were unable to set up your Outside the Bank Transfer service for the following reason(s): 2_DI0015 |

Finally, I realized the reason.
I forgot to sign and fax the signature card, which they hid inside the brochure.
No bank notified about anything except of E*Trade about closing of the account (for $1 and $2!)
Be cautious! |

EDIT: from my previous post in another thread before guided here.
"Early Closing Fee (within 120 days) $30"
Min Balance $200 approx $27 with interest in 4 months or about 13.5% return on investment in 4 months.
ummmm.... any other catches? I didn't find any terms on the $25 bonus. Please post if you see anything.
I am thinking open with $200, wait 4 months, and close with $227. I don't even think a link is necessary. They should be able to close my account and send me a cashier's check.
Has anybody actually got the $25 bonus yet? |
