Safeway and Abertson too.

Can someone please post a scan of the ad? For everyones sake, when they refuse to admit there was a 5% on everything offer.

I wonder if any of the following stores in our area would qualify:

Safeway, QFC, Albertson, Fred Meyer, TOP, 99 Ranch, Walgreen, Safeway Gas

I've never had any grocery/drug stores or gas, which would not earn the 5% rebate

Thanks for the post. I am going to pass this on to a friend of mine.

Here is the scan ATT (486k)

Seems like it's only 5% on grocery/gas?

Edit: Nevermind, looks exactly like the previous 5% offer.

The AT&T Universal Cash Rewards Card does not have as many benefits as the AT&T Universal Cash Rewards Card."

i don't make that much money a year (you must have an annual income of at least $12000) since i'm a student and i work part-time. If i apply for it i might not get those benefits?'

Thanks

can anyone answer my question?

Most of the time the annual income is your "household income" this includes your mom/dad or anybody that you live with. I am still in college like you and have applied for this card and many others and have never been rejected.

Your statement is not true. On the credit card application form, they usually ask the question separately: annual income & annual household income (this is also the case in AT&T form). Annual income is your personal income. Of cause, you can lie about it and they may not catch it (just like tax return). Think about it: if you don't pay your credit card, your parents do not have the obligation to bail you out by law.

AT&T Universal 5% Cash Back on ALL purchases through 3/1/05:

Current promo:

Full 5% Cash Back on purchases made at supermarkets, drugstores, and gas stations -- Full 1% Cash Back on all other purchases.

You see the difference, right? No "Full 5% Cash Back on purchases* until x/x/xx. After that,". Why would they have switched from the straightforward language to the shady one? My personal experience shows that such offer may involve numerous calls, investigations, mails, faxes, etc. Actually, I am still in the second round of such process with AT&T 5% on purchases till 12/1/04. They initially did not honor => (calls, investigations, mails, faxes) => they did honor for Sep but not Nov => (calls, investigations, mails, no faxes yet)

Does anyone else actually have more than two Universal cards? (Plus one more Citi)

at one point I had two Universal Cards and one Driver'S edge and my wife had two universal cards, one dividend and one driver's edge.

In my experience they are more likely to approve you for universal card if you do not have a universal card at the moment. So if you've maxed out Cash Back on your old universal card, you can consolidate it in to some other citi card that you have and then apply for new universal card. Also, if you don't have a universal card they are more likely to give you a higher CL on your new universal card. YMMV.

I already have an AT&T Universal cash rewards card. Can apply again for the same to avail of this promo or should I cancel my earlier one? Also do they add the cash rewards across the cards in this case to caluculate the $300 lilmit. TIA

here is a story: My wife was able to get the second AT&T card, I was declined, but got approved for $10K+ CL after I've consolidated my old AT&T card in to some other citibank card.
Of course it may be just a coincidense, but my theory that it's not a coincidence. I am going to try again. I've already consolidated my last unviersal card in to another citi card will wait a few days and apply.

But remember it's YMMV.

If you are going to try it, don't close your AT&T card, consolidate it in to some other citibank card. If it's the only citibank card that you have try converting it to something else(may be difficult)... closing it should be the last resort.

I have two cards from the previous promotions although I applied at the same time by phone and web - so, that may be not 100% guarantee.

Although they have "new cardmembers only" requirement. I don't remember such phrase in the past and it's not in the previous scan. Will they enforce and how? I don't know.

$300 lilmit is for each card, not combined

Thank you for taking the time to do the comparison.
Even thought I think this one should work, I'm also wondering why citi would put a different wording this time ...
Man, don't you hate that.

Whoever has 12/1/04 card, what's your experience? Was I just unlucky? (I remember at least one more person with similar experience to mine)

Consistent w/ my prior warning. Those of you who are reading "5% on purchases" as "5% on ALL purchases" are possibly engaging in wishful reading. Be prepared to wrangle w/ them when it turns out to be selective 5% for a limited time.

And even then, I'm not sure you'll get it, at which point you'll have wasted your spending, getting 1% (or nothing) on purchasing that could have been rewarded better on a diff card. The offer reads like selective 5% to me. I'll be happy to be proven wrong...

What kind of AT&T services can we use this card for? Would AWS/Singular wireless phone charges qualify?

alert mods

I was the person whom hosted the old scanned offer.

This offer to me sounds like Everyday Purchases only (Gas, supermarket).

I for one will not be applying....it's not a full 5% card imo.

alert mods

Other people can who have applied over the phone can speak to this. I called to apply over the phone. After the CSR has taken down all the information for my application, she then read the terms and conditions for the offer. The terms and conditions are obviously from a prepared text on their terminal. She clearly read out loud that "*all* purchases are entitled to 5% Cash Back for the first 3 months, then 5% on eligible purchases thereafter, eligible purchases include supermarket, Drugstore, and gas stations..."
I usually do not believe what CSR say over the phone on any matters farther than I can throw them, but this is clearly read from prepared text and not something they recall from memory or made up out of the blue.

I feel absolutely certain, in my case at least, that I will be getting 5% on all purchases.

Those of you who call and ask about this offer, make sure you ask them to read the terms and conditions for the offer. These CSR take applications for many different cards so they are going by memory unless you ask them to read the specific terms and condition for the specific application. My CSR first told me that it is only for eligible purchases, then she read the terms and conditions of the offer and clarified that it was 5% for all purchases for first 3 months and 5% on eligible purchases thereafter.

I have the same concern too. But the 5% back on gas, supermarkets and drug stores purchase is the standard feature on this card (according to their regular terms & conditions). If this offer is indeed for everyday purchase only, why do they bother to mention that this promotion is for 3 months only and you need to apply by 6/15? Just doesn't make sense to me.

EDIT:
In their regular terms & conditions: "Unless you are participating in a limited-time promotional offer, you will earn 5% on purchases made at supermarkets, drugstores and gas stations, 5% on purchases of eligible AT&T consumer products and/or services and 1% on all other purchases."

This offer surely sounds like a limited-time promotional offer to me. What do you guys think?

Just applied over the phone. CSR confirmend 5% Cash Back on all purchases for 3 month.

He also mentioned that card provides wireless phone theft insurance for cardholder, spouse and unmarried children under 19 years.
max $100 per occurence, with $50 deductible.
Max 2 ocurrences per year.
If it applies to all cell phones(not just AT&T) this may be a nice feature.

CSR gave the phone # to get more info (800) 556-5548, but that office is closed for the weekend.
I'll call next week and post more details.
