it seems as though you'd need to have to be 16 or older. |

Get ready for another more by Emigrant. Now that ING is catching up. This is getting interesting. Some here thought these guys would be dropping rates. Looks like they will continue higher through the rest of 2005. Especially if the FED makes another move shortly.

You do not need the software, just the code (look here )and the code is 58978755 (enter in the bottom box). Stop talking about a $25 bonus! It is actually $50!!!
I tried to use this code and got an error message that it's no longer valid. |

Never mind - I called the account in and they applied the rebate manually. |

Yup. International Netherlands Group. They've been around forever. The ING Direct part is relatively new. |

ING did not have a strong retail banking in US, that was why they created INGDirect to penetrate this market withou building any physical branches. |

dsmking, When you say joint acccount, you mean joint between a child and an adult? Can you still taking advantage of no tax or low tax rate for kids? |

The only negative is that it can take up to 3 days for a transfer to go through. Some other online banks do not take as long. |

Another problem with ING is that they do not start paying interest until two days after you deposit funds. Other banks, like Emigrant Direct, pay interest starting on the day of deposit. |

I'm very hapy with ING Direct. It takes a day for my BOA account to give ING the money and a day for ING to update their records. Then I start earning interest. I wouldn't excpect ANY bank to give out interest before they even have the money deposited. |

ING is just as secure as any FDIC insured bank. 'negative' sides are a matter of opinion..
some people prefer banks that are B&M rather than just online. |

so typically it typically it takes 3 days to transfer funds from a checking account. i.e. i request $100 to be sent from my checking account to ING Direct, it will be in my ING Direct account by Thursday? and vice versa? |
