I just noticed this today. They break out the balances to

under 10k
10-25k
25-50k
50-100k
100k+

Under 10k is 3.05%, but the rest are 3% so I wonder why they still break out the last 4 brackets...?

Not bad!

These tiers seem to be the standards for a variation of the minimum balance corresponding to yield in the past ie. Bankrate.com still maintains these tiers as options for MM account inquiry but most banks these days seem to only have two tiers, minimum and above that. Charter One Circle MM is the one bank that still adheres to a variation of interest rates among these tiers that I've known of.

Does Virtual Bank offer any kind of sing-up bonus now?

VirtualBank does have a referral bonus though ($20 each to referrer and to referree).

It is now 3.25%...

Virtual Bank is now offering 3.40% APY on balances below $50,000 and 3.30% on larger balances.
