I just noticed this today. They break out the balances to
under 10k 10-25k 25-50k 50-100k 100k+
Under 10k is 3.05%, but the rest are 3% so I wonder why they still break out the last 4 brackets...?

These tiers seem to be the standards for a variation of the minimum balance corresponding to yield in the past ie. Bankrate.com still maintains these tiers as options for MM account inquiry but most banks these days seem to only have two tiers, minimum and above that. Charter One Circle MM is the one bank that still adheres to a variation of interest rates among these tiers that I've known of.

VirtualBank does have a referral bonus though ($20 each to referrer and to referree).
