Approved after checking status over the phone. The rep told that the code CGFX (which attached to the web application) also has $150 Visa GC and will be mailed within May and June 2005.

Let's get this paper!!!!!
on a side note, anyone care to comment on the rewards aspect of this card? I'm still looking for a Visa card that I can use whenever my Starwood AMEX isn't accepted. Are there any better alternatives I should know about? |

Alcibiades said:didYOUsearch said:Seems this card has an EXTREMELY LOW APR FOR PURCHASES AND CASH ADVANCES!!! Especially for a rewards cardMBNA Merrill + is currently the same 7.65% (was 5.9% till November 2004) and has a better rewards program, but no offer of a $150 VISA GC.
My Merrill+ statement close as of April 15th still reads the 5.9% apr. I just got a huge increase on it so we'll see if that does anything to the rate, though I've never carried a balance...
Schwab visa is a great looking card, 150 gift is tempting as well. I think it's best I wait until monday to call. |

I just called and they told me there were no analysts around currently to review credit apps to approve or not. That was even before I had given her all of my info.
I wound up using my parent's addy in NJ as that is where my Schwab papers are sent anyway. Hope I can get this as I do live in NY. |

Does anybody know how much does the credit score decreases with a new credit card pull. I have a FICO 765 but might be buying a house in September and don't want my FICO to fall below 720. This offer is very tempting. Thanks |

It all depends on your existing credit history, account age, etc. There is no one for all point hit. But count on a few points hit for the inquiry 3-6, and a few for the new account as it decreases your age. It's generally not advised to apply for new credit cards shortly (6 months) before buying a house unless you really need more credit. |

My credit is outstanding and I have a 7 year history of on-time mortgage payments and I still didn't get instant approval. The message said they will notify me later. |

my guess is that the online program is written where if it does not get the approval in say 30 seconds it gives that message -- so with all the traffic, no one gets approved that quickly.
heck, my over 800+ avg, no debt didnt get approved but in 15 mins i called up and boom was approved. so its the program |

Thanks OP.. Just applied for my wife and I, $300 if it comes plus Sony's card for my wife and I. Another $200. What a productive morning!! Since I bought a home 3 years ago, I don't have to care much about my Fico score for a while. |
