OP thanks for posting.
Apparently people at FWF these days just like to ask stupid questions and have inane discussion instead of actually posting finance deals for use to choose from.
Again, thanks for posting. Ignore the haters |

Thanks OP. I did it the first time and got my $100 credit quite easily. Also just last week they sent me a $20 check for signing up for their protector service. Seems a no-brainer to me as I haven't used the card since I paid off the amount that went over the credit.
Thanks and keep those posts coming!!! |

Just applied for the Charles Scwab/MBNA deal last night. In regards to my credit rating, should I apply for this now, or wait a few weeks?

do it now so you might have a chance of the MBNA not already pulled (having yourself 3-4 points increase) |

0% APR for 12 months. This is better than the $150 Schwab deal for anyone that plans on carrying a balance. Also the $100 is credited after the first purchase whereas the $150 from Schwab comes between July and August. |

Any takers on this one? My guess would be NO if you still have the Sony Card. You might be able to cancel the card and reapply for a new one - I am not sure.
My Sony Card is 10 years old and my first/oldest card, so I am not going to cancel it for the $100... Maybe I will re-apply for a second one, but I doubt it will be approved. |

I applied for the Schwab $150 deal and just applied for this one also.
Don't really care if it hurts my credit a few points.
$100 gift card and 0% APR for 12 months is sweet. |

How could it hurts your credit when you apply for more than one credit card? I just want to know how does it work.
Thank You |

sinik said:No reckner I could have sworn FWF was about only posting a deal if it's better than any other current deal.
Seriously though, not that it matters which is "better", but IMO this deal is more attractive to people like me who probably wouldn't get approved for that Schwab jobber. I'd rather get $100 in exchange for my TEMPORARY, INSIGNIFICANT credit score ding than nothing.
This post is also good for me as now I will get 250 instead of just 150. Good post reckner! |

reckner77 said:<whiner on>$150 Visa Debit Card is a BETTER deal without a doubt.
$100 CREDIT for opening a credit card is also one of BETTER deals as well. People were all over this same offer before and disappointed when it was over.
This is far better than the variety of Citi card $25-$100 promos that give you Thank You Points which must be redeemed for particular items. This is much, much better than most of the Checking/Savings account offers that I have gone through to get $50-$175 for opening an account.
The idea that people are flaming this post is INSANE. My post is (was?) the WHOLE POINT of this message board: To post Financial Deals.
As pointed out above - the Hot Deals attitude - "This deal is better than yours" is not really necessary in this forum. You can and should apply for a bunch of offers.
Will a NEW credit card put a "ding" on your credit report? Yes, yes it will - DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH? - cause I do, and so do many people around here, the $100 is by FAR worth hit your credit score will take. Please stop posting misinformation and bashing one of the few on topic posts around here.
It can be bad to apply, apply for credit cards - but what is truly bad is to USE them unwisely. I myself have over 20+ cc's - most from promos posted here - and I still have qualified for a top teir mortgage, car loan, and have a 720 credit score. I get a rejection now and than for a cc cause I have too many inquries, or I don't get the "instant approval" but an approval in the mail, but it is a price to pay... Unless you are going to stupidly go out and purchase $6000 worth of Furntire or Plasma TV's from a store credit card the inquires don't really matter.</whiner> |
