I got the earlier deal and the $100 several months ago. How surprised I was when I got an email from them yesterday thanking me for opening my account and telling me that I would get $100. Of course I thought it was a mistake, but low and behold I got credit for another $100 today. I wonder if they will catch it. |

I got the same email, and I see a $100 credit for the second time. Iam not complaining. |

I didn't get another card...this is for the same one I already received the first $100 for. It looks like there are a few of us out there getting this unexpected present. |

Experian does not have a hit from SONY. Do any of you know from where they pulled your credit report? Applied on April 30th. No sign of the card yet. |

Mdutt, I didn't get a hit on Experian either, and I applied the same day. Looks like new customers will have to wait a while, or Sony's trying to figure out how to reneg on the $100. |

Just got an offer for this in the mail, and now I see it's on FW.
I turned 18 a few months ago and have no credit history. What are the chances of me being approved for this? I would like to start building my credit history and it'd be a nice bonus to get $100 out of it. I'm going to make a post later on asking about building credit history... Heh, all I know is that I'm going to be *very* careful because having bad credit sucks |

Sorry, but I think it's unlikely that you'll get this card. I would always get denied for non-student cards. My first card was a CapitalOne student card (which completely sucks, but will build you credit). Then I got Citi student cards. I'd recommend the Citi Dividend (5% back on groceries, gas, drugstores) and the Citi mtvU (5% back on restaurants). Every so often they run a $50 statement credit to signup offer. |

don't think thats true. i got my first credit card when i was 17 and it wasn't a student card. i never got a student card before. i'm 21 right now and got at least 8 active CC with $35,000+ total limit. and everytime i get a pre-approved letter, i always get the card. that happens for my friend too, so i think when its pre-approved there is a much better chance of getting it. |

whats the fastest way to build credit????
I've applied for two cards now and both denied. Thought I was doing the right thing by paying for everything in cash or check card. |
