I just applied for an 8k CLI from Chase without checking here first. If I had, I would've known not to waste my time...

Oh well.

From what I have seen, always a hard pull. Even on my Best Buy card (HSBC finances this), there is no form or anything. You just click "request CLI", and they give it to you or don't. But it's always a hard pull.

Thanks for the data point. What is your current CL? IIRC, 15K on one line is the max without docs.

WAMU - CSR says they do it automatically only, no requests.
BoA - used over $150k HHI and asked for $8k CL, but only went from $500->900 (CL was drained for last AOR)
Citi Prof - $9k->11.5k (easy, no pull online).
Citi Shell - online form asks for 2 bank accts???
Citi ATT Univ - same as Citi. Both after I did the Prof so maybe this is why?
Discover - called and got $11,500k->$13,200 w/ no pull or questions.

I recently applied for a CLI on a Citi card from 30k to 100k. They asked for two bank account numbers and phone numbers, which I provided, one of which was my citibank account. I received a letter a few days later saying that neither bank would talk to them and that I needed to send them statements or have a specific employee for them to talk to who has been instructed to help. I sent statements.

Right hand meet left hand.

Typical, huh? You would think card services could "see" our Citi bank accounts.

I checked both of my USAA CC's online and can't find a CL increase button. Have they stopped doing this feature?

Has anyone had experience with this new CLI page? Do they actually call your bank up or something?

When is your last CLI request? If you got this kind of form, it means CITI needs a credit pull to process your request. Just wait several more months if you do not want a hard pull.
I understand that and am considering going for the hard with full knowledge of what that entails. What surprises me, though, is that it is asking for specific details of my bank accounts! Is that a new 'feature'?

Thanks for the info. Did they finally approve your request after sending them statements?

Since I am going to apply for the citicash again next month (just converted that to citi dividend today ) , it's one hard pull anyway, one more from CLI on the same day won't hurt.

Apparently it's a known problem at creditboards.

I just checked my accounts - no luv button for any of them.

I got my AMEX simplycash in January. They give me a $3000 CL. Since then, I tried to increase my CL through online twice. both time, they said wait 5-7 days. Then I got denied letter. I think I put in the wrong info. Can someone tell me what I really should put in the income to make this CL go through?

On income, I put in 70,000. Should I include my wife's income in here? which will be 140,000 combined.

On business revenue, I put 25,000. That is my second job income for last year (real estate agent). Am I wrong entering that amount for the revenue? Should I put my revenue as 1.5 million, which is the sum of the house sold price.

Thanks in advance!

When did you ask for CLI? Was it before 30 days? If so, then they will deny.

Barclay's (Juniper)

I called and requested a soft-pull CLI on my Barnes & Noble card. Although it was a paltry 1k increase, they facilitated it and new CL showed up online immediately. Same with National Park, I figured I'd ask while on the phone. Same 1k increase. Oh well, better than nothing!

I decided to try my luck with HSBC. They suck. "Lulu" did not understand English very well. She finally understood what I meant with "soft pull", but I'm pretty sure they did a hard as she asked my income. No luck. I'm not sure why, but I have two HSBC cards that have 3.5k and 3k limits while my other cards are mostly 12-30k each. They couldn't give me a CLI, but insisted that they review credit on a regular basis and give CLIs where applicable. I finally just asked to consolidate the two cards. After about 5 near-misses (her trying to confirm that I'm closing the wrong account), I finally got her to say the correct direction even there were only two to choose from in the first place. She asked me for my income again. I bet there are about four hard pulls waiting for me tomorrow...

Edit: HSBC said I will receive a letter with the response to the reallocation. I'm going to take that as a no-go. I wouldn't be surprised if my newer card ends up winning the battle between the card that gets to stay open if by some miracle it actually does go through.

I recently got a CLI of 10k on my HSBC cc pushing me to 15k.

I used the online form. It will result in a hard pull but at least it worked.

PS. it pulled Equifax for me.

Thanks for the data point! I'll check out the CLI button during my next "run"!

I didn't get a hard pull for my Best Buy card CLI request. They hooked me up...from 4400 to 9900.

Just got the denied letter from AMEX. Saying can't raise if you have an increase 6 month or the account is less than 30 days. My business cc is 33 days old when I request the CLI. I did get $10,000 CLI on my personal cc. Does this mean AMEX consider personal CLI on business cc?

Thanks! Hmm, I must have been looking at softs or something. I didn't see any HSBC or weird hard pulls I didn't recognize. I used the CLI button again, but was denied, I think I did it within the last 6 months, I'll have to wait and see what the 7-10 day letter says.

lhendricks, here's my slow reply for you.

Issuer? Citibank business
HHI? ~125k
CL before and after? business w/citi 15k (2 cards) total w/citi 40k
depth and breadth of personal and business credit files? roughly 20 open acct's. 3 new business acct's. credit score 790-ish pre-AOR. credit history almost 15 years.

I put for one business card CLI. This was the "no-doc" type where they don't ask for info other than how much you want. I have 2 business cards with citi. They pulled TU twice.

That's about all I have. at least it's TU!
