Jump from 7k to 22k was a bit of surprise since I only asked for 11k. They will allow requests every six month via regular CSR phone. This time I am thinking about shooting for 45k as they alway counter if too high. They have been the leader in my cc portfolio and others(esp. BofA) have followed.I too like Wells Fargo - others have not had the best experiences with them. I was able to secure a second card and consolidate lines into one |

Yes, AMEX is funny about this. Some of their reps say 60 days; some 90 days; some 180 days. |

Edit: I did it on my other BOA card, which I never use. Went from 500 to 1K. Yipee. The 17.5K already shows on my other account so I can't complain too much.In my experience, roughly 3 months is the time frame. When I've requested another credit line increase within 3 months of the previous increase, I've always gotten a message about them letting me know followed by a letter in the mail with a denial. |

I was able to secure a second card and consolidate lines into one Thanks for your info and link. As a matter of a fact, I followed your threads for my minAOR. (and yor mrs, too) You seem to have around 24 also. What do you think their ceiling of the "easy" limit is? |

Discover now has credit limit increase built into their automated voice response system (1-800-DISCOVER): http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/finance/805758/m13426696 The automated system prompted me for the credit increase dollar increase amount requested, and household income. (Key in using phone buttons.) Also, I recall reading in another fatwallet post somewhere (but don't have a link at the moment) that they have increase their wait interval between CLIs from 3 months to 6 months. I will update the quicksummary with this. |

I will update the quicksummary with this. I just opened my first Discover account in December - they started me off with an $8k line. Should I wait 6 months before asking for a CLI? If I attempt it through the automated system and I get denied, do I get one of those credit-nazi "no CLI for you, come back 1 year!" letters? |

their new policy is 6mo minimum, but the CSRs will still try before that. |

I've noticed with Citi (after pulling my credit report) that they've limited my CLI's to 1x/year. I'm already around $14k. Is this the case for anyone else? Anyone know Citi's max CLI without docs? |

BoA just fxcked up my account. Put the request for online CLI (Last time I did was 2 months ago), got a phone call asking few things about my income, debt, etc. Upon review, they found my debt is too high (from AOR last summer), so refused CLI *AND* closing account due to 0 balance, despite the fact I have enough balance in my checking account to pay them off immediately. Great, just great. It's been one of my older account with fairly ok CL (8.5k). |

Well, doing a CLI request just a mere 2 months after another CLI request seems kind of silly in the first place. And how is your debt still high, if your AoR was in the summer, most everything should be paid down a decent amount. |

I even saw a post saying it's possible to get CLI every 2 weeks for 500~1000 CLI. I am just warning that it might not work as before -- especially considering economy situation. (By the way, CLI amount I requested was 1500) Yes, most of them have been paid down more than half, few already paid off. Utilization is about 15% of overall credit limit. |

Where exactly is the option to request a credit line increase for Bank of America on a personal card?? I can't find it anywhere! When I click on request a credit line increase on the customer service page it only lets me select my BoA business card and nothing else. I have three personal BoA cards and I want to apply for a credit line increase online so there's no hard pull. Is there any reason why the CLI link wouldn't be showing up under the Services tab for each of my BoA personal cards?? |

I called BoA online banking and the lady told me where it should be but it's not showing up and she didn't know why. I have a BoA NEA, BoA AMEX Rewards, and BoA Platinum WorldPoints. Is there anything you have to do in order for those links to show up? I haven't even used my BoA personal cards in about a year. Maybe the links went away because I haven't used them recently?? |
