eh screw it, maybe it's just better to get the Citi Dividend card that gives you actual Cash Back, instead of points. No $100, but in the long run, the cash will be better than specific points gift cards.

15,000 reward points after 1st purchase!

(I don't think these points can be traded in for a visa-gift card or equivalent, correct?)

don't forget to apply through cardoffers.com and get $20/$40 bonus (bounus is doubled if you apply for their customized card search which costs $5)

If you apply for this card through cardoffers.com will you get the bonus 15,000 points or will you lose that and only get $20/$40? Not sure how cardoffers.com work since I've never used it.

When you clik on the link on cardoffers.com you get to citibank page where it states that you'll get the bonus (15K for Elite and 5K for non-elite).

Card offers is similar to FatCash. You get $ for click through. Registration is free. You must login to see bonus amounts/apply. If you order the custom report for $5 all bonus amounts will magically double

Nothing stops you from converting this card to Dividend card after you get the bonus

If you are a fan of dividend card, you should be interested in Universal card with 5% full Cash Back for 3 month, after 3 month it becomes the same as dividend card(5% on Drugstores, Grocery, Gas & AT&T products)

Thanks Fotomaniak....I have that site bookmarked and will try it. Seems like a good idea to check this site before applying for offers you read about elsewhere just in case the same is offered.

I think if the cardoffers site does not state the bonus points as a result from approval, then you won't be receiving them. When you apply for any cards only you need to be sure to use the site/form that states the specific reward you want.

Card offers site does not state that $40($20) bonus disqualifyes you from anything. They just pay you for clicking through their site.
When you click the link on card offers, you get to Citibank site, which says you'll get bonus points(15K for One Pass Elite and 5k for non-elite).
It's pretty obvious that you'll get the points.

Also, don't confuse card offers & citi.
Card offers pays you if your app is approved
Citi gives you bonus points after the first purchase

I've applied for AMEX Hilton card which offers 10K bonus points through cardoffers.com and received the card + welcome package that stated that I'll get 10K bonus pts.
I don't see why this would not work

doesn't it hurt your credit rating if you're constantly applying for credit, eg. credit cards? i recall reading in my credit report that each time a creditor checks your rating, it drops a few points. if i'm wrong, someone please correct me.

yeah... but inqury only counts for 6 month ;o) plus, many(most?) people don't need to have a perfect credit all the time. If you need to apply for mortgage, you can always clean up your credit and boost your score withing 6-12 month(just stop applying for new cards and pay off all the 0% BTs.

It is kept for 24 months and different scoring algorithms count them differently. I have been rejected by Citi and Discover (both new applications and CLI requests) with reasons like "too many inquiries in the past 12 months".

interesting, will take a note. I wonder what they consider "too many"

I have 8 inquries, most of which are in the last month on the Experian(report that citi pulls for my apps) and still got approved for another citi card recently.

Got the schwab card - mbna just took my previous credit limit and allocated some of it to a new card. Wonder when the $150 gift card will arrive. Great terms though for the APR - prime plus 1.75%!

Got a letter from citibank asking to supply them with a phone bill, a credit card statement, and pay stubs. At least they didn't want me to pledge my first-born child! Given that they've just lost several million customers' data, they're probably on the safe side. Weird because I already have a credit card with them and also had a checking account that I've closed in Feb.

Haven't heard from Chase yet. Probably won't get it though since I have 4 chase/bank one credit cards combined. Edit: Guess what showed up in my Chase Online Access? Yep, the SONY card I guess I should be getting it any day now. If only I could consolidate all my bank one/chase credit cards into one once the promotions expire, I'd have a great CL!

Anyone got their schwab reward card?

Edit: 6/13 Called Citi and clarified the information. So I don't have to send the info in (which would have been too much effort), and should have a card coming my way!

Edit: 6/21 Got the CitiBank card in the mail, and already charged something on it. Also, got an email today from Sony Card stating that my $100 will be posted to my account within 5 business days!

Citibank card just sent me a "welcome letter". One interesting option - they can issue a photo security card, if you send them a 2x2 photo. So this may be something to look into - just another photo ID document

I got the 10k points in my citi account. I can't seem to find a way on how to redeem them for a $100 Visa card. All I see are various gift cards. Any help?

The new Chase Cash Plus Rewards card gives back 5% for everyday purchases and 1% for everything else (same reward structure as the Citi Dividend Platinum card). If you apply by phone and get approved, you receive a $50 bonus after your first purchase: FW discussion.

I've never seen a visa gift card from there, your only choices are the gift cards from the merchants they list (last I requested for a gc).

anyone think it's possible for a student with no credit history but over 100k in household income to score any of these? or would i just be wasting my time?
