I've taken advantage of the Citibank Card ($100), the MBNA Schwab card ($150), and The Sony Card ($100). (All of the amounts are in the form of a credit or Visa gift card after a purchase.)
Does anyone know of other credit cards that are offering cash, credit or Visa gift cards for applying and using a new card?
I'm sure an ongoing list would be very helpful to everyone here.
Another Citi Card - 10% Cash Back on all purchases for 3 months (up to $100 applied as a statement credit). Not quite as simply as the other offers, but still a decent deal. (Thanks to fotomaniak for suggesting it).
Here are some additional offers fotomaniak found through card offers. None quite as simple as the 1st 3 I listed, but they might be worth a look.
Citi PremierPass card ($110) $40 bonus from card offers(double bonus with $5 customized report) Elite level 15000 bonus points, $75 annual fee (you may be able to get a pro rated refund of the annual fee if you close the card, just move the most of the CL to another citi card, before you close this one) $150GC + $40(cardoffers) - $75(annual fee) - $5(cardoffers report) = $110 "regular" card - 5000 bonus points, $0 annual fee $50GC+$40(cardoffers) -$5(card offers report)=$85
Hilton HHonors AMEX($40 + 10000pts) No annual fee, 10000 bonus pts after 1st purchase and $40 from card offers (double bonus with $5 customized report)
Hilton HHonors® Visa® Signature Card from Citi ($40 + 15000pts) 15000 bonus points after 1st purchase $40 bonus from card offers (double bonus with $5 customized report) No annual fee
$100 CitiBusiness® Card with ThankYouSM Network +0% 12 months

I've updated my OP with links. Surely there are more out there to add on?

I think the link for Citi CC is only $50 Gift certificate.

Not unless they just changed it. It was in the Sunday paper. You get bonus rewards points upon your first purchase and you can then convert those into a Visa Gift Card.

The MBNA offer link does not work for me. Is it the $150 GC offer or bonus point offer? How many world points? Thanks.

BTW Scwab $150 deal is dead. Now its $50.
Message posted today in the Schwab Visa list says the $150 deal is still active, per phone conversation with CSR.

Well I tried to fix the MBNA Schwab link, but I can't seem to get it to work. Follow the link for the MBNA Schwab thread and in there is a link to the card offer. On the website it still says it's a $150 Visa card. The MBNA Schwab card is a Visa gift card offer, not a points offer.
Any other card offers out there???? Anyone?? Bueler?

However, it says you must apply by May 15th 2005. So have missed it.
Friend at work called in yesterday to get it and they said they extended it. I'm not sure about this so YMMV but it's worth a try to just call and ask for yourself.

It was an offer in the Sunday paper. I don't have the ad though. My mom got the same card earlier and received the $100 gift card. I got the card and called customer service to ask about it and they told me the same thing.
It's legit.

www.cardoffers.com
Doesn't show any cash rewards after a first purchase though.

"Those" offers don't come around often. When they do, they're often obscure.
Dang, I just got two new bankone/chase credit cards within the last month. I guess my chances of Sony approval are slim at best.
I have another card from MBNA with a high credit limit, so there it's not very likely either.
I'd like to get a citibank card, but on the application form it doesn't mentiion the $100 bonus anywhere. Do you see it later in the application process? Or what can you use to back this offer up if the bonus doesn't materialize? Last time when I opend a checking account with them, I had to fight about $100 bonus.

It's worth trying! I already have 2 Chase cards and I got approved. I have 3 MBNA cards and got approved as well. MBNA is one of the easiest. They'll just take some of your credit limit and apply it to the new card. When you cancel the new card they'll move it back to your old card if you ask them to.

Nice one! They only ask for household income. Good for me, cause my wife does not work, but the household income should be good enough for the app to be approved.

A free credit report if you request it from the credit bureau that they used to deny you.

yeah i was going to apply for the citibank card, but it would be nice to get the $100 also. hopefully someone will come through with the ad, if not, maybe we could call citibank and talk it over with them over the phone. don't want to spoil the deal tho...
Economist said: Okay, applied for all 3. All three notified me they'll get back in touch with me by mail. Is this normal? Or do people get approved on the spot? For the MBNA card ($150 bonus), it's best if you call and speak to credit analyst. It's easier to get approve that way.
(I don't think these points can be traded in for a visa-gift card or equivalent, correct?)

Is it still being offered? I thought I read somewhere that the bonus is now $50. I missed the $150 MBNA Schwab VISA GC offer that expired May 15.
Since interest rates for CDs and savings accounts are rising, it is probably more lucrative to look for the longest term highest CL 0% promo offer than gift cards or even $25/mo rebates....

not for a visa GC but can get Staples and other gc. they also allow statement credits but the conversion rate sucks. better buy FAR stuff at Staples and convert to cash that way.
tashayar said: Looks like that one has a $75 annual fee. I didn't see that it was waived for the first year. Is it? If not, then this isn't that hot for me.

you get $150 GC from citi and $40 from cardoffers, minus $75 annual fee, you make $115 still worth IMO Plus, you may be able to get a pro rated refund of the annual fee if you close the card ) I am not sure how citi handles this, I know you can do this with AMEX(any time) and with chase withing first 30 days.
or you can apply for the Non-Elite card, get 5000 points($50 GC) and $40 from card offers, total $90
