Paypal Q: How to Swich from Premium status back to Personal? Archived From: Finance

I did a search and nothing relevant came out.
Looking to avoid fees for normal money transfers with friends, I have been trying for days to figure out how to switch from Paypal premium status to personal status. I think I've read in passing in the Finance forum about paypal allowing you to link accounts? Not sure about that one.
Any advice will be much appreciated and cookies points will be awarded.

I guess if I can't figure it out, I'll just start another Paypal account but I rather keep using my current one since it's linked with eBay.

I don't want to sound like a total noob here but how do you do that?
The create new account part is easy but how about the linking part?
I tried searching on paypal help but I can't get any answers.

When you do have personal and premium both linked and received a payment, do you get prompt to choose which account the money goes to?

PayPal Customer Service Agents are available to help you during the following times:

4:00 AM PDT to 10:00 PM PDT Monday through Friday
6:00 AM PDT to 8:00 PM PDT on Saturday and Sunday

I called with similar questions about a year ago, and they honored my request immediately.

You'll need separate email addresses and funding sources.

Sign into your paypal account and look for "Contact US" at the bottom of the page. Then search for "downgrade". Follow the instruction then.

Note: You can only downgrade 1 time for that particular account you have.
Meaning, if later on you decided to upgrade, then you cannot request downgrade for the second time.

Login to your Paypal account.

Follow the below steps:

Go to Help --> Getting Started --> Premier & Business

On the right column, click on the question “Can I downgrade my account?”

Follow the instructions from there on.

You are allowed to switched from Premium to Personal only once.. Email the CS and tell them to downgrade your account, this should do it.

I just set up a personal account in addition to my premier account using the same funding source. Looks like that's what paypal means by you are allowed to have 1 personal, 1 premier.
Only 1 can be linked on Paypal though.
