dustin1836 said:well, I asked specifically at the start if I needed an invitation and she said she'd take care of it. I asked specifically at the beginning and specifically at the end if I was applying for the customcash card, and was told both times yes, so there was no way I could have been misinterpreting the words on the phone - so maybe the CSR was off in space. I guess I'll report back when I see what comes in the mail... It's two months alreadly, did you get the customcash card?

I have had the customcash card for a couple years now, and have been on & off trying to get a second for my wife. Just to confirm still no luck, last try was just wednesday.

But the real purpose of my post: wondering if anyone else got the purchase checks some months back? These were very atypical checks for RBS, but similiar to CapOne & others in that there was no fee & they post as purchase. I received one and only one pack of them -- I've gotten many checks from RBS since, but none of them are purchase chaecks, just BT. The purchase checks I got are dated as valid til 12/31/06, so I am stretching out using them once every two months til the end of the year -- deposit start of period 1, pay off at due date of pd 2, repeat process in pds 3 & 4. I'm on my 2nd or 3rd check now, forget which.

Forces me to pull back a bit from racking up rewards, but I have some nice limited term offers on other cards anyway, so it's not a bad time to let this plastic cool. I'm not sure why they sent it to me, except that it might be becasue I was using this as my main card for a while & had lots of activity?

got an invitation offer in the mail the other day for this card, and in the details it says the cap is $30 a month now.

Probably will still apply though, and try putting $1,000 a month in one 'category', other than gas/groceries/Drugstore.

I just received a packet of the purchase checks. No fee, post as purchases, no rewards. Total of 6 checks in the packet and they expire 4/30/2007.

Alert !!!

Looks like they capped CasBack (now called CustomCash) to $500 annual retroactively and with no warning.
I earned zero in my last statement and complained, they opened an investigation and after a week came back telling me that I reached $500 annual cap and that cap was mentioned in the original T&Cs brochure. I'm quite sure it is not there (mine came in February), but I don't have it with me now so I did not argue.
I double-checked if they changed T&C recently adding the cap, and the answer was "no, it had been there all along".

Ok, let's pull out our brochures and start comparing.

Looks like their monthly/annual earning limits are individual and tied to accounts.
Mine has $500 annual limit (15K spending) - not disclosed anywhere except the initial offer letter.

Maybe your card has a $500 cap, mine doesn't and I just received another check in yesterday's mail and my total for 2006 is well over $500 even before the last check. I received my card in Dec 2004 (regular RBS) and it converted to a Custom Cash in Nov 2005.

If you recieved $0 in your last statement and the explanation was that you reached a cap then it should be a simple enough matter to go back one statement further and verify whether that statement reflected the cap as well (ie did you receive your full 1%/3% or was it something less).

I found that link six months ago and applied. Don't bother ... I got the regular card and no CSR would correct despite trying several times.

It really IS by invitation only.

Sorry about that then, I deleted the link so it wont cause any trouble

Is this card still invite only? I'd love to have 3% on Newegg.com and combine it with the 1% here. I'd be in heaven!

Has anyone had luck calling 1-888-426-1114 yet?

I'd really like to add this card to my collection.

I have spent over 1.2k in one category I used to get 3% and the rest in some other category, but my total Cash Back is $30.00 online. Haven't seen my statement in the mail yet. But for those who have this card, are you aware of any limit of how much you can get each month/year? Thanks.

Reading through this thread it seems their terms have changed a few times. Some people report having no cap (maybe grandfathered in), the letter I had received said $60 cap per month, and someone just a few posts up said that their recent invitation said $30/month. I honestly don't know if mine is the $30 or $60 because I can't recall passing $30 in a month.

Received my card back in May.

T&C that came with my card stated a $60.00 max Cash Back cap per month and I've received that amount on 3 occasions, last time was in January.

The $30.00 limit per month must be for new cards.

I got mine in July of 05 and have no cap.

alert mods

Yep, I called them and they couldn't give me the invitation number so, no go!

I have been using the card since last October, and just now had a month in which the $30 cap was reached. So I'll get a $30 check, and the 'CustomCash remaining' stays the same as 'CustomCash beginning balance' on the statement. I'm only missing about 20 cents from the top, because of the cap, so that's not too bad of a loss.
