Whats the credit limit before Citi requires documentation?
The norm I see is any req over 10k, but it all realy depends on what that persons credit is like
look if you want to take the hit, i mean the inq, then call c/s and ask them to ask for the "max credit line" this is a button we have when the person does not know what they want and they just ask for as much as possible. this responce time is long but you are asking for alot with this req. it will take up to one day to one week to get a answer so call back a week later and find out how good your credit realy is. c/s rep will ask you for alot of info so be ready. thay will ask you for employer, income, job tile, bank name and acct number of checking acct and saving acct and also the phone # to the bank. |

So these limits up to $300k, did these people get them by having a small initial account and requesting increases? Does Citi require financial documents?
I have never seen a brand new acct with a credit line that high. These people have had the acct a long time and they are most offten the "American airlines" acct's. These people alot of times use there acct for there work and always, always, pay in full. These acct's i would say are the most easy to get because they have a yearly fee, but if thats a problem to you than once you get the card call c/s and convert the card to somthing you want and the credit line stays the same. |

Wow, SIS is back again to screw with our heads. Anyway, I can confirm that the multiple applications at the same time will work. |

I have 2 questions:
1. How many points will reduce (when I apply for new card / request for credit line increase) for each hard pull of my credit score?
2. Why Bankone sending pre approval offers and issuing only $400 card? Is it that banks policy to insult customers? It happened to 5 friends on mine. Only they are sending pre approval offers those total length of credit history is 1 yr max.

If your application is denied because of "past or present" delinquent credit obligations noted on your credit report, is reconsideration an option? The request would be based on age of the delinquent obligations and the existence of other citi accounts, including cd's, savings and checking products? Also, does citi respond to planet feedback requests for reconsideration? |

Please give your valuable suggestions.
Right now I have 15 credit cards (limits ranging from $2K to 21K) with a total limit of $172K. Out of which 7 cards in use including Balance transfers (used since I got 2.99% till balances paid)
I have total $ 62K balances on all cards. In fact I have invested this amount for high returns. Obviously my score came down to 686 points. What do u advice to strengthen my credit file? I don’t have any flags like late payment, defaults. Or any other types of loans except Credit card loans. I have total 6 years of credit history.
Please advice. My motive is I want to keep big credit limits

If the app is declined the only thing you cant do is to ask to speak to the "new business dept". This is hard to do so ask a c/s rep to trans you to a supv and then ask to speak to this dept. I cant be sure that this trans will happen because they do not want you to speak to them and do not give out the # so dont ask. so try a couple of times by calling back and speaking to a diff person. because the trans to the dept is possible but hard to do. If this does not work then ask a supv to trans you to the presidential dept. then ask this dept for another review of the app. it has worked for my freind befor so it is possible. but if your credit realy suck there is just nothing you can do until you remove the bad info from the report. find a credit repair service this mite work for you. |

well it is a give and take problem, which pocket do you want fatter right or left. I mean its great that you have taken the money out and got bigger returns from using the credit this way. its great that the money can be repaid fast if need to. i have seen people do just what you are doing. by using the credit card money and getting a return on it. but if your bal are high than the fico takes a big hit. right or left right or lft. there is noting else i can say but whats more important to you. your fico score or your return. |

There is some thing else with this card, I dont remember what the exact title is but if you dont have it ask for it. people are getting a rebate on what they purch and on the miles that they drive. yep im not "bs" the miles they drive. if you want to know more info or to switch your card call c/s and if that person is dumb and does not know what you are talking about than ask to speak to the Driver's Edge rebate dept they will be sure to no what im talking about. |

Does Citi takes into account previous banking relationships? i.e. if I had a checking/savings account with them, would it affect whether i get a card or what CL I get?
Also, I just got the diamond preferred card with 5k limit. Is it possible to get the CL increased if the account is new, or do I have to wait 6 month before asking for an increase?

paying the acct's on time is good paying more than the min due is better. paying some of those bal down at least below 50% is perfect. once those acct's have hit the 7 year mark your set they are earning max points.
and i am done with credit report answers |

Hi citicardman,
Great thread!
Is it possible to switch from the Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards card to the Dividend Platinum Select (5%/1%) while keeping the same account # and without having to cancel/reapply? |
