I got my first statement and found I have 5252 points. How do I get rewards from the points? It is not clear how to cash in the reward from the webpage.

alert mods

As stated in the offer, you go to choosemyrewards.com. You may only be able to do it after you get a statement, since when I try it, it says "Please enter the 5 digit Billing Address Zip Code using numbers, exactly as it appears on your credit card statement."

http://choosemyrewards.com

It should be mentioned on your cc statement.

In what form is the Cash Back? A check? Credit to next month's bill?

alert mods

When it was firstusa, one had to call to redeem. It was a check or gift certificate, no credit to cc bill option.

I was wondering if anyone had any success converting the SONY Card to this one? I've called twice & these ladies (INDIA) insist that the only way is to apply for one.
But, I see that some FWers were able to convert other cards & would like to know if it is possible to do it w/ Chase's own SONY Card as well.

I called to convert my chase' own perfect card to this one. But they kept telling me I can only apply for a new one. But they couldn't either convert or enroll my card into this new program. It's really suck.

penguinknot said:darkhaven said:I just called regarding changing the perfectcard to a cash plus card and was told that they are treating cash plus rewards as a rewards marketing program more than a type of account. Rewards supposedly won't transfer between the programs but that's not a problem with the PerfectCard if you don't have much racked up in rewards this month. To switch you have to call in and have them first drop the rewards program currently attached to the account (IE -- The PerfectCard 3% program) and then attach the new Cash Plus rewards program. According to the rep I talked to it takes about three days for the request for the PerfectCard program to be dropped to take effect. The nice thing about this is that there shouldn't be a need to reapply for the card, and both the original card number, account length, and card should be usable following the switch. The card design will change when the next card is sent out however.

I called and tried to convert my perfectcard and was told by 3 csr's it was not possible to do anything unless I had a credit limit of $5000. I threatened to cancel my perfectcard and they gave me $10 credit on my next statement. I guess there is some justice in this world.

That's bul3shit. I have $12500 credit limit on this card. they still told me they cound't do anyting on it.

I was able to convert my Chase Continental Airlines World MC into a Cash Plus Rewards MC. The CSR was not aware that the Cash Plus Rewards card existed until I asked him about it, but the 5% for gas and groceries reward terms that he read sound like I got the right thing. My request to reallocate credit between 2 Chase cards was denied- I was told Chase doesn't do that. I called the 800 number on the back of my card.

Don't you know already -- call again!!! I was once told by a Citi rep (no accent) that citi doesn't do it. We all know they do. The Indian counterpart was able to assist me.

Did your t&c say anything about the $50 bonus after 1st use? Did anyone's? And if it didn't, did you get it anyway? Did it show up on your first statement or maybe the online acct activity? Mine didn't have anything about it so I'm just wondering...

alert mods

I just called and converted my SonyCard Visa to this Cash Plus card. I also mentioned offer code Q5S and the CSR said 'no problem.' I'm not counting on receiving the $50 promotion, but it'll be nice if it happens.

He said they'd send me a new card and automatically close out the old SonyCard account in 60 days. hope that helps.

My terms made no mention of the $50 bonus. I applied on the phone and verified with the CSR that the code did indeed warrant the bonus (it did). I did receive the 5000 bonus on my first statement.

First Use Bonus: 5000

Seems like you would've been better off closing your Sony card and separately applying for the Cash Rewards to get the 50 bucks?

Applied for the new card by phone. There was no instant decision. Credit check from "FIRST USA".

Several days later, the card appeared in the online system in addition to my existing card. Very convenient!

I just got off the phone with a very knowledgeable sounding CSR. She said the Cash Plus Card is TIERED, plus you have to carry a balance. So to earn the full 5%/1%, you have to reach $7000 in spending AND carry a balance. May still be good for the $50, but that's about it.

I think the CSR was talking about another card. I just got the Chase Plus Rewards card and there is no mention of tiers or "up to 5%". It specifically says 5% and 1% back in points.

I wish these CSR's would get a clue sometimes.

Either you or the rep was looking at another card. The Cash Plus rewards card is NOT tiered. I just received my very first statement and received a full 5% on my grocery/gas/Drugstore purchases and the balance was far less than 7K.

Anyone know how cash reward works in this card? The selection for the cash reward appear to result in a letter sent to you. What does this letter contain ? I have not received it yet. The other rewards appears to be the standard $50 gift card for 5000 points.
